Operations

Fish Friday
On Friday 24 June, we will be holding Fish Friday. We will be donating 5% of the total fish counter sales on the day to the Royal National Mission for Deep Sea Fishermen. This is going to be a great event and will go a long way to support the families of those fisherman lost at sea. There will be supporting fish counter pings and posters which will be reversible in the run up to the day and for the day itself. Your teams have also received a detailed fact sheet which contains further information on the Fishermen's Mission, just in case any customers ask about the charity itself. This was sent with the Weekly Update. This is a great day for us to try to push sales and support those who support us all year round by supplying us great quality fish and a great price.

Summer Fun
New in seasonal aisle this week
By Thursday 8am, the Summer Fun Event should have been launched into your seasonal space. Please ensure that you have read your summer fun briefing packs. Please note this event includes most elements of the recent Gardening and Outdoor Living Event Phase 3, and brand new elements, for example, camping.

Automated promotional forecasting

Automated promotional forecasting was introduced across fresh food last year as well as grocery and health and beauty earlier this year. Availability at the start of promotions improved by 0.9% on the dot.com availability measure. In Beers, Wines and Spirits the work has been trialled for three months in Group 44, and has been in one store within each store director group for the past two months. As a result of the positive trials, automated promotional forecasting will be introduced nationally for Beers and Spirits promotions starting this week (Week 17) in promotional cycle six. Automated promotional forecasting for Wine will begin for promotions starting in Week 18 onwards.

More success at the Grocer Gold Awards

Last week we picked up three prestigious awards at The Grocer Gold Awards - the event that recognises the best of the best in grocery retailing for service, initiative and commitment. Our leading achievement was the Grocer 33 Customer Service Award which recognises our commitment to our customers and our focus on delivering a great shopping trip. We also won Online Retailer of the Year - we now deliver an amazing 500,000 orders each week across all of our online businesses. Our new mobile Apps were highlighted as a real innovation and we were praised for the Real Food website. Our third award was Non Food Brand of the Year for Tesco Mobile - the judges commented that they were blown away with what Tesco Mobile has done for customers by cementing itself as one of the leading networks in the industry. These awards are testament to your hard work in doing the best for customers.
