Election of Board and Officers The Nominating Committee has announced its candidates for the Officers and Board of Trustees. These candidates will serve a two-year term of office beginning July 2011 and continue through July 2013. The Slate of Trustees is as follows: Secretary Rosemary Fallar (two years) Treasurer Ron Bergondo (two years) Board of Trustees: Susanne Gilbert (two years) Robert Kiss (two years) James Kovacs (two years) Georgia Dickson (two years)

The nominations will be announced at the general membership meeting held on June 18, 2011. The elections will take place at the general membership meeting on August 20, 2011, at which time any member in good standing can make a nomination from the floor. Each member present is entitled to one vote. The candidate who receives the largest number of votes shall be elected and will begin to serve immediately. In 2010, Kevin Cook was elected President, and Mike Ippolito as Vice President, both for a term of two years through July 2012. As you may know, Alan Mannherz has decided to retire as our President at the end of 2010. We would like to thank Alan for his tireless work and dedication in leading our organization as a member of the Board during the past ten years including the last four as our President. Alan will continue to be a member of our organization in the future. General Meetings in 2011 All members are encouraged to attend the summer general meetings. In addition to an established Agenda, each meeting provides a forum for members to ask questions or bring issues to the attention of the organization. The June 18 meeting features Mayor Connors who will discuss issues of special interest to all Surf City taxpayers, and will include a question and answer session. The August 20 meeting will feature the presentation of the Beautification Contest winners, and the election of Officers and the Board of Trustees. In addition to attending the meetings and staying involved, we also encourage current members to ask their neighbors to consider joining our organization. Donations- Beach Wheelchair and Trust Fund Once again, your organization has decided to purchase and donate a new beach wheelchair to the Borough of Surf City. The cost of this item was $2,500 and was paid for from the funds of your organization. CTABSC President Kevin Cook will present the wheelchair to Mayor Connors at the June 18 meeting. In addition to our direct donation for this item, individuals can make a contribution to the Beach Wheels Trust Fund which will enable the Borough to purchase additional beach wheelchairs for both adults and children, thereby improving the quality of life on the beach for our disabled residents and visitors. To donate, please write a check to the Borough of Surf City: Beach Wheels Trust Fund and send it directly to the Borough. Donations- Other In 2010, your organization donated $1,000 to the Surf City Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, and $200 to the Surflight Theater.

Contests and Events in 2011 Once again, we have organized numerous fun-filled events for your enjoyment. Please see your Calendar of Events brochure for details and note that volunteers are still needed. Recreation Trust Fund Your Association petitioned the Borough to establish this Trust Fund. The fund is exclusively used for the purchase and maintenance of playground and recreation equipment and grounds. Similar to the already established Beach Wheels and Veterans Park Trust Funds, monies donated by individuals to this new fund must be used for that specific purpose. To donate, write a check payable to Borough of Surf City: Recreation Trust Fund and send it directly to the Borough. Beach Replenishment The severe storms during the past two years have caused significant erosion to our beaches that were replenished in 2007. Fortunately, an emergency beach fill project with federal funding has been approved to restore the beaches between 10th and 23rd streets. At this writing, the project is scheduled to begin approximately May 1 and be completed by Memorial Day. Local Businesses Support Your Association We thank all our sponsors for their support and encourage you to patronize local businesses. NJ Parking Regulationsjust another friendly reminder The New Jersey Drivers Manual states that a vehicle should not be parked within 10 of a fire hydrant, within 25 of a cross walk of an intersection, or within 50 of a stop sign. Cars parked the wrong way on a street will also be ticketed as well as those parked beyond the designated areas at each street end near the beach. Please inform your family, friends and renters of these regulations so an unwanted citation does not destroy an otherwise enjoyable visit to Surf City. Borough Beautification Interested in organizing beautification efforts throughout the town? Want to create an Adopt-a-Block program for the Barnegat Avenue median? Have a desire to facilitate flower and tree plantings? Would you like to organize a cadre of volunteers to maintain the Associations plantings on Barnegat Avenue? Please indicate your interest on the membership form. Working together we can make it happen. See Your Local Government in Action.
