It has been awesome to see so many students auditioning for our school production Lady Pirates of the Caribbean. This will be a major focus for term three, students have already auditioned for major roles and this week students interested in a dancing role have been busy auditioning in the hall. You will see included with this newsletter that our Whanau Support Group is organising a hangi to continue fundraising for Kapa Haka Piu Piu, this will take place on Saturday 9th July and we are currently asking for donations for the hangi - if you would like to help in any way please contact the school office. Thank you.

MIS 7A Win Netball Competition!

On Tuesday 8A & 7A travelled to Tokoroa for the InterIntermediate netball tournament. 8A were all really excited and we were ready to play our best. Our first game against Matamata was tough, we came away with a very close loss. Next we played Tokoroa who made us work hard, once again another close game which resulted in a loss. We had a serious team talk and got our acts together. Our next game was against Peachgrove, we played a lot better and were only down by one goal at half time but, unfortunately, we did not win. Our last game was against Cambridge and although we did not win that game either we came off the court with smiles on our faces and our thoughts were focused on Thursday nights game against MIS 7A!! Report by Abbey Bell & Kailey Allison. First up 7A played Matamata and won 6-3. Next we played Tokoroa and this was a tougher game but we managed to win 6-5. We went on to win our next two games against Peachgrove & Cambridge and that took us through to the finals. In our final game we played Maeroa which was our toughest game for the day. We were very happy with the end result because we won 13-11 which meant we were the overall winners for Year 7. Thank you to Mrs Taylor and Debbie Hicks for a great day and to all the parents for supporting us.
