M25-03

M25-03

Joint Type
Micro control joints for use in floors and walls. Ti-Lock-micro is simply pressed into position compressing by 1.25mm and giving 1mm of movement. The action of pressing the joint downwards into the rebate causes it to compress by 1.25mm leaving a visible surface profile of only 3.0mm. From this point (termed 'steady state'), the joint has a primed movement capacity of 1mm. The very narrow surface profile of the installed joint means that its visual impact simulates that of a grout line between tiled finishes. Thermoplastic cores are available in Stone (beige), Grey or Black as standard. *Vamac joints have been specifically designed for projects where a high degree of fire resistance and low toxic smoke emission is required. Such installations include underground rail terminals, basement levels of air terminals, hospitals and other areas where personnel (or passengers) work (or transit) below ground level. Vexcolt's *Vamac synthetic rubber extrusions have been tested and approved to the latest London Underground Limited Engineering Standard E1042:A4 September 2000 Engineering Standard for the fire safety performance of materials used underground.

Application
Ti-Lock-micro is suitable for use in floors and walls and can be installed in virtually the entire spectrum of finishing media, from hard finishes such as ceramic tiles, marble and terrazzo, to industrial epoxy coatings, paints and wooden flooring or wall cladding. Ti-Lock-micro joints are available as two separate joint types: Ti-Lock-micro Metal joints are very robust and are ideal for floors where high levels of pedestrian traffic or vehicle loads are anticipated Ti-Lock-micro PVC joints are designed for use in walls and low traffic pedestrian floors

Product Description
Comprising a Brass or Stainless Steel envelope partially encapsulating a flexible PVC or *Vamac core, the Ti-Lock-micro joint is designed to be inserted into a grout filled, 3.0mm wide, pre-formed rebate between finishes.

Ti-Lock-Standard - NL Range

Ti-Lock Standard NL

Ti-Lock-NL control joints are installed in control bays in flooring to relieve and isolate stresses in screeds and beds arising from drying shrinkage, thermal change and traffic load. They also serve to accommodate deflection arising from the base provided they directly coincide with joints in the underlying slab. These joints are anchored into the screed or bed by the continuous perforated footplates on either side which provide a very firm key throughout the length of the joint. When installing NL joints, and where the joint is used with marble or terrazzo which is polished after laying, it should be installed 1 or 2mm above the level of the unpolished paving. When grinding is carried out, the joint simply polishes down flush with the surface of the tiles.

Two types of Ti-Lock-NL joints are manufactured:- TIL-NL joints which are designed for normal service and which have 1mm thick metal side plates and THD-NL joints which are used in very heavy duty applications where exceptional levels of impact and abrasion are anticipated. THDNL joints have 3mm thick metal side plates. Both types of joints are supplied in 2 metre lengths with Brass, Aluminium or Stainless Steel side plates bonded to a Neoprene or *Vamac air channelled core. Standard core colours are Black, Grey or Stone (beige). Special colours and sizes can be manufactured to order. *Vamac joints have been specifically developed for projects where a high degree of fire resistance and low toxic smoke emission is required. Ti-Lock-Standard - NS Range

Ti-Lock-Standard NS

Ti-Lock-NS movement control joints are employed in controlled bays to provide local stress relief in accommodating the forces of drying shrinkage, thermal effects, imposed and transient loading (traffic), as well as deflection arising from movements in the slab. This range of joints is keyed into the bed or screed by wire ties which are placed into anchor points pressed in the metal side plates. These anchor points are spaced 200 mm apart and wire ties are inserted to further guarantee firm linkage to the screed or bed. When installing NS joints, and where the joint is used with marble or terrazzo which is polished after laying, it should be installed 1 or 2mm above the level of the unpolished paving. When grinding is carried out, the joint simply polishes down flush with the surface of the polished tiles. Ti-Lock-Standard - ND Range

Ti-Lock-Standard ND

The ND range of demarcation control joints is generally used to provide movement control and protection to surrounding paving media where differing types of flooring meet. This type of joint may be used between the main concourse of a shopping centre and the entrance to tenant areas or in areas around matwells and doorways. Ti-Lock-ND joints are keyed into the bed or screed by using wire ties on one side (as Ti-Lock-NS joints) and optionally screw affixing the base-plate on the other side into the substrate. The ND range of joints is supplied in 2 metre lengths and is manufactured with Brass or Stainless Steel side plates as standard to provide maximum impact resistance particularly required while construction and shop-fitting traffic continues to move over the joint. Aluminium ND joints are only available in the heavy duty THD-ND range which have 3mm thick metal sideplates. Side plates are bonded to an air-channel Neoprene or

Ti-Lock-Standard - NA & NP Ranges

Ti-Lock-Standard NA & NP

The NA and NP range of adhesive fix control joints are designed primarily for incorporation into structures which are being refurbished, where the major movement cycles of settlement and drying shrinkage have already occurred and where a new slab, screed or bed is not being laid. These joints provide compression only stress relief from the movement effects of thermal change and imposed or transient loading (traffic) in floors and walls. Ti-Lock-NA and NP joints are installed directly into the adhesive bed used to affix the tiles, and joint footplates are perforated to allow a firm key into the fixing agent. It is important that careful consideration is given to the depth of tile and proposed depth of adhesive layer prior to specifying and ordering this product. Simply, tile depth plus adhesive depth must closely approximate joint depth otherwise the top of the joint will not be flush with the top of tiles.

It is also important that the joint should be bedded on a layer of adhesive and as such at least 1mm should be allowed in respect of this, and therefore: tile depth + bed depth - 1mm = joint depth. Ti-Lock-NA and NP joints are supplied in 2 metre lengths and are available with Brass, Aluminium or Stainless Steel side plates bonded to a Neoprene or *Vamac core. Standard core colours are Black, Grey and Stone (beige).
