It is my understanding that enrollment for the TESOL course for these schools is down and that Bruce Allen Veldhuisen and his wife are branching out into job placement. I will publish additional information as it is available. Concerning ongoing operations of most concern is TEFL international and related schools invite you to work in Thailand with no work permit. It is illegal to work in Thailand with no permit for any time. You are at risk of jail and deportation. Thailand continues to tighten enforcement and to raise qualifications for teaching. You do NOT require a TEFL, ESL, TESOL certificate and will NOT be accepted as a substitute for some sort of 4 year degree. You can NOT get a work permit in Thailand without a 4 year degree. Most recent changes in Thai law at the time of this writing was Feb 1 2008. More restrictions are expected to follow. TEFL international is involved in an ongoing scam where you are offered to teach in Thailand while you take a TESOL course at a reduced rate. You put up a NON REFUNDABLE deposit.
