company BBQ was in order! After four months of deployment, it was nice to get out of the office for a day and enjoy great food and festivities with great Soldiers. Burgers, chips, and drinks were served. And SGT TauaIs awesome ribs, of course! Along with lounging around in the sun and enjoying each others company, many Soldiers had a game of volleyball going in the water, while others played on a sand volleyball court. 1SG Burton got a spades tournament going, others chose Corn Hole, and SGT Tauai showed everyone at the pool what a real cannonball looked like.

Memorial Day 5K: Racing to Remember

In an arc around the 20th Engineer Brigade Commander, COL Kaiser, Army and Air Force Engineers alike gathered for the same reason: to run in remembrance of our fallen comrades. As Memorial day approached, we werent going to forget about those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. In a motivational speech, COL Kaiser encouraged every Soldier and Airman to remember those of us who have fallen, and run for them.

Taking lead of the pack, LTC Kinsmans Personal Security Details (PSD) SGT Martin stole first place for the men, while SSG Reed took second. The PSD platoon leader, 1LT Hanley, came in first for the women. Each was awarded a coin for their victory. As PSDs medic, SPC Ketzer, and alternate medic, SPC Huffman were running the route, COL Kaiser and CSM Kendrick passed them. Not wanting to be beat by the Brigade Command team, they shot ahead of them

like a bullet and crossed the finish line first. Awarding them for their commitment, the command team gave each of them a coin in front of the task force formation. Let us always remember those service members who have gone before us, and the sacrifices they have made so that we may have the freedoms we enjoy this day. They are gone, but not forgotten.

Two bikers lead the front of the formation as the timer starts.

Let us in this moment rededicate ourselves to the highest ideals our fallen comrades lived and died for. -CH (CPT) Bong, 326 EN BN Chaplain
