I noticed some users looking for this, so heres how to convert CBZ and CBR ebook files into PDF. 1. Rename the files so that the .CBZ and .CBR extentions are changed to .ZIP and .RAR, respectively 2. Decompress these into a folder; any of these freeware programs will do this: Extractnow, 7-Zip, TugZip, and Filzip. 3. Install a PDF virtual printer. I recommend the free PrimoPDF because it provides multiple print quality options. 4. Open the newly created folder, select all image files, and print all of these collectively. These will

print in alphabetical sort order, which is exactly the order CBZ and CBR files are displayed in CDisplay and other readers; see screenshot for how you can do this. More instructions on printing images en- masse in XP can be found here. Another way to print collectively is through your image viewing program, as most support this functionality. 5. Navigate XPs photo printing wizard. You probably want the Full Page Fax Print, to guarantee that nothing is cropped out of the images. Make sure to send to the virtual PrimoPDF printer. 6. Once the PrimoPDF quality options are displayed, select the quality that you want. Unless you want a smaller PDF than the original CBZ or CBR file, the prepress quality setting will give you the highest quality setting, which should generate a file size roughly equivalent to the original. 7. Thats it, youre done.

1. Mino July 7, 2010 at 12:45 am | Permalink Worked like a charm, and Im pretty much a noob, lol. Thanks!

2. Lisa July 28, 2010 at 6:17 am | Permalink is there an easy way to split a cbr into individual pages/files? so often i find comic books that are out of order and it is a real pain to save each page individually just to rename them and change them back into a cbr

3. Samer July 28, 2010 at 9:27 am | Permalink @Lisa: yes, rename CBZ or CBR to ZIP or RAR extensions, respectively, then extract the archive to a folder. You will see individual pages as seperate images. You can then intervene appropriately, adding or removing images, then re-archive and restore the CBZ or CBR extension. I hope that helps.

4. Lauren Bombardier August 28, 2010 at 1:14 am | Permalink I have to say that was pretty easy. I used IZarc (since I already had it) to decompress the images, so thats another one you can put on your list. One thing, though. When I used PrimoPDF, it printed the first several pages at the end. How can I change that?

5. Lauren Bombardier August 28, 2010 at 1:22 am | Permalink Never mind, I figured it out. I just used my picture viewer like you suggested. However, when you do use PrimoPDF, you want to use tabloid instead of letter for your paper size, or else it will
