One of the most creative, useful inventions that has ever been made is the alarm clock. The purpose of the alarm clock is to alert someone sleeping that the time has come to wake up. The noise that the clock produces may be loud, or it may start as a quiet beep and steadily increase in volume. In either case, its a call to wake up. Church family, God has already set the alarm clock for this world. As Christians, we need to recognize the signs that its time to wake up! We hear the noise of war, the noise of family discord, the noise of church disunity. all signs that its time for us to wake up and be ready for Christs coming! As young people this quarter, we want to be alert to the call to rise and shine for God. Were tired of sleepingwere ready to do what God has called us to do. Arent you? Stop hitting the spiritual snooze buttonand wake up! In His Service, AYS Council

Smiling faces and eager anticipation was evident on the faces of over 130 Mt. Olive members and visitors, as they prepared to attend the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, GA. The Sabbath trip on May 7th was the second part in the Gods Amazing World series. This marked the first time that Mt. Olive has taken such a large group down to the big animal safari south of Atlanta. On that Sabbath afternoon, children and adults alike were able to feed giraffe, deer, buffalo, and many other remarkable creatures. Visitors to the safari were able to walk through a special zoo area where more unique animals were housed. The evening culminated with a short vespers and a rendition of Side by Side as the sun prepared to set. God once again showed us another part of His amazing world!

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
-Proverbs 3:5,6 (NLT)

The Living Bible

His name was Bill. He had wild hair, wore a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans, and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college. He was brilliant - kind of esoteric; and very, very bright. He became a Christian while attending college. Across the street from the campus was a welldressed, very conservative church. They wanted to develop a ministry to the students, but were not sure how to go about it. One day Bill decided to go there. He walked in with no shoes, wearing jeans, his Tshirt, and wild hair. The service had already started so Bill started down the aisle looking for a seat. The church was completely packed and he couldnt find a seat. By then, people were really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one said anything. Bill got closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and when he realized there were no seats, he just sat down right on the carpet. By now the people were really uptight, and the tension in the air was thick. About this time, the minister realized that, from way at the back of the church, a deacon was slowly making his way toward Bill. Now the deacon was in his eighties, had silver-gray hair, and a three-piece suit. A godly man - very elegant very dignified very courtly. He walked with a cane and, as he started walking toward this boy, everyone was saying to themselves that you couldnt blame him for what he was going to do. How could you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid o the floor? It took a long time for the man to reach the boy. The church was utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes were focused on him. You couldnt even hear anyone breathing. The minister couldnt even preach the sermon until the deacon did what he had to do. They finally saw the elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty, he lowered himself and sat down next to Bill and worshipped with him so he wouldnt be alone. Everyone choked up with emotion. When the minister regained control, he said, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget. Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some people will ever read."

Mt. Olive Mothers & Fathers Honored

AYS Camping Trip

May 14th and June 18th marked very special days at Mt. Olive as the AYS honored the remarkable achievements of the mothers and fathers of our church. Mothers were treated to a cake reception and free massage on their day, while the fathers bonded while testing out their bowling skills! A special tribute was given during the service to the more seasoned mothers and fathers of the church: Sis. Louise Dunson, Sis. Lorraine Henri, Elder R. Tottress, and Elder Richard Norman. Every mother and father of our church deserve a tremendous thank you for all that you do!

There is no better place to worship God then in the beauty of nature! That was the overwhelming sentiment of the adventurous church members that attended the Mt. Olive Camping Trip in May. The trip included interactive vespers and challenging nature hikes for this lively group. Everyone participated in erecting tents, preparing meals, and even preaching sermons! At the end of the weekend all were refreshed and anticipating the next AYS camping trip!
