Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC) is a nationwide multi-sectoral coalition conducting advocacy work in the national, local and international arenas, to realize a common framework and agenda for economic development. FDC believes in the following: Human Development Equity, Economic Rights, Economic Justice Democratizing the Economy Sustainable Economy Economic Growth (that is humane, equitable, sustainable) The Role the State Must Play in the Economy Economic Sovereignty and National Self-Reliance Global Economic Relations For 2011 to 2013, FDC is looking for staff that would passionately pursue its peoples agenda. Job Description for Debt and Public Finance Program Coordinator Responsibilities: 1. Takes the lead in the planning and implementation of the Coalitions 2011-2013 Program on Debt and Public Finance; 2. Drafts the work plans of the program. 3. Prepares and submits draft reports on the implementation of the program to the Secretary-General. 4. Heads the implementation of the campaign work of the program. a. Conduct public education work: forums, conferences, community discussions, etc. b. Build partnership with organized groups for implementation of activities and/or campaigns. c. Build and maintain campaign and issue-based networks. d. Develop champions among lawmakers and personalities. e. Build international solidarity. f. Coordinate with Communication and Media Officer in developing, producing and distributing public information materials. g. Organize public events, creative actions, and mass actions. h. Writes position papers and media releases and coordinate with Communication and Media Officer in conducting media activities. i. Maximize the use of social networking sites. 5. Oversees the research and publication work and education and membership work of the program. 6. Support the Secretary-General in raising funds and other resources for the program. Qualifications: 1. A background in the social movements 2. A considerable experience in public campaigns, advocacy and research, with knowledge and understanding of debt and public finance 3. Extensive experience in all aspects of program management (assessment, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and fund resource management) 4. Preferably with an academic background in economics, public administration, or banking and finance. 5. Strong commitment to and affinity with gender equity 6. Planning and very good communication (written and verbal) skills 7. Strong personal initiative and self-motivation, with ability to work well in a team and independently.

Job Description for Debt and Public Finance Program Support Staff Responsibilities: 1. Assists in the planning and implementation of the Coalitions 2011-2013 Program on Debt and Public Finance; 2. Aids the Program Coordinator in drafting the work plans of the program. 3. Implements the research, publication, and education and membership work of the program. a. Coordinate with program coordinators in developing the concept and design of annual research agenda. b. Develop issue briefs and analyses, critique, position and policy papers, resource materials. c. Maintain and improve the database system and collection of pertinent research and academic materials. d. Conduct specific researches and/or oversee contracted research work. e. Network with experts and key informants. f. Build consensus among and within the Executive Committee and/or Board of Trustees. g. Develop and distribute publication materials. h. Provide technical support to both education and public campaign cluster. i. Coordinate with program coordinators in developing the concept and design of internal education agenda. j. Develop education modules and produce education materials. k. Implement internal education for FDC constituency: chapters, national and local organizations, individual members, board members and secretariat. l. Develop and maintain education machinery. m. Develop and maintain experts and leaders. n. Conduct activities that will consolidate and expand FDC membership. 4. Job Description for Women and Gender Program Officer Responsibilities: 1. Works closely with the Sec Gen and responsible persons in campaigns and advocacy work to ensure that the WGP is carried out. 2. Monitors issues relevant to FDCs work, and prepares briefing papers on how women and gender issues are implicated. 3. Prepares press releases and statements for important occasions/dates, or as conditions may require. 4. In coordination and consultation with the OSG, represents FDC in meetings and activities for the purpose of ensuring that women and gender are adequately addressed in its advocacies and campaigns. 5. Leads and/or assists in research undertakings on women and gender, in relation to FDCs advocacies and campaigns. 6. Works with the FDC Womens Committee to collaborate on implementing and advancing the WGP and find areas and ways of complementation and mutual support. 7. Leads in the study of womens perspectives and gendered analysis as they relate to economic policy advocacy and ensures their integration in FDCs advocacies and campaigns. 8. Ensures the continued sensitization and education of the Secretariat to womens perspectives and gender issues; assists in efforts of the Board, the Execom and other organs of the coalition at raising consciousness on women and gender. 9. Conducts regular planning and assessment, and prepares regular reports on the progress of the program. 10. Files FDCs resource materials on women and gender, and other materials important in facilitating and advancing the work of the program. 11. Monitors funding opportunities for project development and studies how FDC can tap into these resources. Qualifications: 1. Background in the social movements 2. Affinity with and commitment to gender equity as an organizational ethic and as a guiding principle in economic policy advocacy work 3. A considerable experience in public campaigns, advocacy and research, with knowledge and understanding of gender issues 4. Considerable experience in all aspects of program management (assessment, design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and fund resource management) 5. Preferably, with training in feminist economics 6. Strategic thinking and very good communication (written and verbal) skills 7. Strong personal initiative and self-motivation, with ability to work well in a team and independently.

Develop and maintain experts and leaders. 7. Conduct activities that will consolidate and expand FDC membership. Qualifications: 1. A background in the social movements 2. A considerable experience in public campaigns, advocacy and research, adult education, with knowledge and understanding of debt and economic development issues 3. Preferably with an academic background in education or its equivalent 4. Strong commitment to and affinity with gender equity 5. Very good communication (written and verbal) skills and training skills 6. Strong personal initiative and self-motivation, with ability to work well in a team and independently.
