BJT DC Biasing
Equipment Required: 1 1 1 2N3904 Transistor Assorted Resistors Digital Multimeter DC Power Supply

Procedure: Use multiturn potentiometers or combinations of resistors to get as close as possible to the computed values. Save the designs for the circuits in this lab, they will be used in a later lab. 1. Using the characteristic curves from last weeks lab, design a self-biased amplifier as shown below. Record the computed values for the following:

VRB = __________

VRC = ___________

VCE = ___________

VCC

RB

RC

2. Construct the circuit designed in step 1. Measure the following voltages: VRB = __________ VRC = ___________ VCE = ___________

3. Compute the percent error between the voltages in step 1 and the measured voltages in step 2. Percent error for: VRB = __________ VRC = ___________ VCE = ___________

4. Redesign the circuit from step 1 to include an emitter resistor, as shown. (Assume 10% of V CC is dropped across R E) Record the following computed voltages: VRB = ________________ VRC = ________________ VCE = _______________ VRE = _______________ VCC
