Intro
Thanks for downloading this special report. I truly hope you get real benefit from this report and that the information contained within, will put you on a straight path to success in all your memory and mind development goals. To make this special report as impactful and easily digestible as possible, I have crystallized all the latest and best information out there, into five clearly and concisely laid out sections. Giving you, (where applicable) the why, what, how to and what next, on each of these five excellent and scientifically proven, brain supplements. It's been known for some time in medical circles, that taking brain supplements regularly (also referred to as mind or memory supplements) is a very good tactic to improve and preserve our memory, promote anti-aging as well as significantly help stave off cognitive decline. Its also a well know fact, as any doctor will tell you, that good nutrition and stress reduction are the main factors to heightened mental development. Food that helps memory is out there, but heres the key, by adding brain supplements and pills that contain additional ingredients not found in food can be a very powerful tool in increasing mental ability and memory. As more ground breaking advances in technology are made and our understanding of how memory and the mind works deepens, ever new exciting pills and drugs are being brought to the market. In this report, I will lay out what in depth research and testing has proven to be the best so far in brain supplements that, from our understanding, offer the most promise for improving memory and maintaining and restoring a sharp mind.

The Fundamentals Before we dive right in, lets just take a moment to get the ground fully cleared, so that were all on the same page and you can get the most out of this report. Firstly, in this special report were not going to focus on causes of loss or poor memory or discuss which supplements are bogus and bad for you and there are a lot of bogus memory supplements out there! (please read the disclaimer).

All of that is for another report. For now, its worth mentioning that loss or poor memory can be brought about by a lot of contributing factors such as consumption of inappropriate foods, stress and vices. And the vices that have the greatest effect on our recall are; Smoking Alcohol Activities that hinder our minds to rationalize (Think illegal substances here..!) It really goes without saying that such actions should be avoided when it comes to memory in general. Just know, if youre indulging in these activities regularly, you will be effectively taking, One step forward & Two steps backwards, in all areas of memory and mind development. At the end of the day it really is up to you.

Many recent studies into the effectiveness of brain supplements have been routinely conducted without monitoring or even taking this crucial lifestyle element into consideration! In my opinion the final results obtained in this manner will always be fatally flawed. Secondly, understand that the average brain comprises of around 2% of a person's total body weight. Yet it requires 20% of total oxygen consumption used by the body (the heart uses 7% and the kidneys use 12%). However unlike muscles, your brain cannot store energy. It needs a steady flow of nutrients and oxygen to function normally. Oxygen deficiency can decrease your alertness, memory and judgment.. So getting fresh air and making sure you stay out of stuffy and unventilated rooms for long periods of time is also key. It is also estimated that the brain is approximately 85% water. Water is required for pretty much all bodily functions and just a slight dehydration of 2.5% of your body weight results in approximately 25% loss in bodily efficiency! So remember to stay hydrated too!! By drinking good quality mineral water and oxygenating your system by regularly practicing deep breathing as opposed to shallow chest breathing, will greatly aid your concentration and memory. And thirdly as touched upon earlier, diet is the crucial starting point for your brain and as the brain is the most important part of our bodies, then naturally it needs the best nutrients in order to function properly!

As any top professional fitness coach will tell you, when it comes to creating the body of your dreams, Nutrition is King and Exercise is Queen. No matter how much exercise your doing, it always goes back to what youre putting into your system.

The same applies for your brain too. If you feed it only with candy bars and other junk food you wont get much mileage from it, and you will undoubtedly experience a lot of breakdowns too. If you follow these simple guidelines, you will give your brain all the raw materials it needs to function at its keenest and most creative. Now when you add quality brain supplements into the mix, youll get the most Bang for your Bucks! The ability to process, retain and recall information quickly, easily and sharply for success in all areas of your life, will undoubtedly be yours.

Disclaimer Please Remember, as with any supplement, you must consult a medical expert familiar with supplements before using them. You must fully understand what you are taking and know exactly how to take them. Always purchase memory supplements made from standardized herbal extracts. These are produced with the highest quality and potency. Most supplement manufacturers do not use standardized herbal extracts because

they cost more. The less the cost for them to produce, the higher their profit margins. As stated by researchers from the University of California, Los Angeles Neuropsychiatric results can surely be dependent upon the quality of the ingredients used. Remember to that some herbal supplements and pills are not regulated the same way as others, so only choose supplements that adhere to proper industry standards. As a general guideline to avoid overstimulation, especially if you suffer from insomnia and sleep disturbances, do not take any memory supplements before bedtime, unless stated otherwise. Decrease the amount of any supplement you are consuming orally if you note an increase in muscular tension, in headaches, anxiety, irritability or restlessness. Keep lowering the dosage until the symptoms disappear and cease using the product if symptoms persist even after lowering your dosage. Periodically stop using supplements when you are feeling the benefits of the product. Restart use when you feel that the benefits are no longer accessible to you to minimize how much you rely on and to prevent bodily resistance to the product. Anyone that has been affected or suffers from bipolar disorder or if you have epileptic seizures or any history of mental disorders and mental health issues, must not take these supplements. Unless under the supervision and guidance of a Qualified Medical Expert. As always, pregnant women or women who are nursing should refrain from taking herbal remedies. By downloading this special report, you agree to the following: You understand that the information contained on this page and in this report is an opinion, and it should be used for personal entertainment purposes only. 1. Ginkgo Biloba
Ok, lets start with by far the most popular alternative remedy for memory enhancement and memory problems at the moment, Ginkgo Biloba. Even if you're a total newbie to memory supplements, Im sure youve heard of this one somewhere down the line. Originating from the Ginkgo tree, a hardy ornamental Native to Asia. Described as a "living fossil", it is the oldest living tree species known to humankind and is the last survivor of its botanical family. Individual trees are thought to live up to 1,000 years! As to be expected, Ginkgo Biloba can be traced back to ancient China and the traditions of using ginkgo to treat the brain and alleviate symptoms of coughs and allergies are well documented. Now thousands of years later Ginkgo Biloba herbal remedy is fast becoming one of the best memory supplements in the world!!

Why Ginkgo Biloba? Through numerous scientific studies and tests, the research has shown that Gingko gives the following benefits: Improvement in memory power Better ability to concentrate Increased short term memory Counteracts depression Improved alertness Improves mood

If Ginkgo Biloba's tremendous memory-boosting powers weren't enough incentive to use it, it's also a potent antioxidant, helping to slow aging. Ginkgo Bilobas high antioxidant component inhibits free radicals that if uncontrolled can cause premature aging and dementia. It also helps slow down the rate at which fat deposits too. It seems to prevent cholesterol from turning into plaque that will deposit on the arteries. This measure helps people to avoid stroke, which is one of the major causes of memory loss. Recently, researchers from University of California, Los Angeles Neuropsychiatric Institute showed that "the herbal supplement Ginkgo Biloba has demonstrated in brain scans to improve verbal recall among people with age-related memory impairment."

This herbal memory remedy has been shown in clinical tests to improve memory, concentration, and retention even in Alzheimer's patients! How it works.. Gingko has been double blind tested many times for its ability to improve blood flow to the brain, which in turn helps to provide the brain with additional nutrients and oxygen (and other bodily tissues). It also re-establishes and enhances chemical messaging between neurotransmitters in the brain and thats why many people have called this medicine a "Smart Pill" or "Brain Preserver". Whats the dosage? Ginkgo Biloba is normally taken as a standardized extract prepared from the dried leaves. Recommended dosage for Ginkgo Biloba per day is approximately 120 mg to 240 mg a day. Some prescribe a little less, some a little more but that is a good, general guideline. Most researchers say that differing results found with Ginkgo Biloba could have more to do with the quality of Ginkgo Biloba used and the duration of studies. Other available forms are; Capsules, tablets, liquid extracts (tinctures, fluid extracts, glycerites) and dried leaf for teas. As stated previously buy only the highest quality of Gingko you can find to get the best out of this supplement. (Please read disclaimer) Precautions! There have been no major adverse effects seen in any clinical trials of Ginkgo Biloba. Rare minor side effects reported are mild gastrointestinal discomfort & headache. Very large doses may cause diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting & restlessness. If you are a working professional, it is recommended to take Gingko memory supplement under medical practitioners guidance only. Because it increases blood flow to the brain, if you're taking aspirin or any other type of blood thinner, consult with your doctor before taking this supplement or any supplement for long-term use. Please Note: If you have a blood clotting disorder like hemophilia or a vitamin K deficiency, you especially should talk to your doctor before using any new memory supplement or drug. 8

2. Gotu Kola
Gotu Kola extract comes from a red-flowered herb that grows in the southern US, China, middle and southern Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Australia. In India, especially in the Himalayas regions, Gotu Kola is regarded as perhaps the most spiritual of all herbs and is used by yogis to improve their meditation. The yogis believe that it develops the crown chakra, the energy centre at the top of the head. It is also said to balance the right and left hemispheres of the brain, which the leaf is said to resemble. The leaves of the Gotu Kola are a favorite food among elephants. Perhaps this is where the age-old adage comes from "having a memory like an elephant." Sri Lankans also noticed that elephants, renowned for their longevity, munched on the leaves of the plant. But if it's good for elephants, is it good for humans too? Yes it is! Why Gotu Kola? Gotu Kola like Ginkgo Biloba is showing a great deal of promise as one of the best memory supplements and memory pills around. It has been attributed to a very broad range of benefits that include: Enhancing mental acuity Staving off memory deterioration Improving blood flow by strengthening blood vessels Improving memory

Indeed, in the book published by Reader's Digest called "The Healing Power of Vitamins, Minerals, and Herbs" it states: "In one study, 30 developmentally disabled children were found to have significantly better concentration and attention after taking Gotu Kola for 12 weeks..." It is regarded as one of the most important rejuvenative herbs in Ayurvedic Medicine and due to their popularity with elephants and elephants long life expectancy, the leaves became known as a promoter of long life. It is said to fortify the immune system, both cleansing and feeding it and to strengthen the adrenals. Other well-documented studies report similar brain and health enhancing findings, so how exactly does Gotu Kola work?

How it Works.. Like Ginkgo Biloba this herb increase the blood flow to the brain. In fact Gotu Kola has a positive effect on the entire circulatory system. Not only does it improv blood flow but strengthens the veins and capillaries too. According to modern studies, Gotu Kola does offer support for healthy memory function. Preliminary results in one clinical trial with mentally retarded children, was shown to increase all scores on intelligence tests. Whilst primarily helping memory function, this versatile herb also helps build connective tissue. According to pharmacological studies, one outcome of Gotu Kola's complex actions is a balanced effect on cells and tissues participating in the process of healing. In particular one of its constituents, Asiaticoside, is responsible for stimulating skin repair and strengthen skin, hair, nails as well as connective tissue. The list doesnt stop there its been used as a pure blood tonic as well as a promoter of restful sleep. It's even been used to help those with cirrhosis of the liver!! Whats The Dosage? Gotu kola is available in teas and as dried herbs, tinctures, capsules, tablets, and ointments. Products should always be stored in a cool, dry place and used before the expiration date on the label. The adult dosage of Gotu Kola varies depending on the condition being treated. Your health care provider can help you choose the right dose for you. The standard dose of Gotu Kola varies depending on the preparation. Most studies have used standardized extracts:

Dried herb ~ you can make a tea of the dried leaf, three times daily. Powdered herb (available in capsules) ~ 1,000 - 4,000 mg, three times a day Tincture (1:2 w/v, 30% alcohol) 30 - 60 drops (equivalent to 1.5 - 3 mL ~ there are 5 mL in a teaspoon), three times daily. Standardized extract ~ 50 - 250 mg, two to three times daily. Standardized extracts should contain 40% asiaticoside, 29 - 30% asiatic acid, 29 - 30% madecassic acid, and 1 - 2% madecassoside.

People older than 65 should take a lower than standard dose of Gotu Kola. It really is best to get your health care provider to help you determine the right dose for you, which can be increased slowly over time.

10

Both Ginkgo Biloba extract and Gotu Kola are well tolerated when taken orally. They work well together and seem to promote and increase the healing properties of one another. Everyones a winner here! Precautions! It's best not to use Gotu Kola for more than 6 weeks without talking to your doctor. You may need to take a 2-week break before taking the herb again. Side effects are rare but may include skin allergy and burning sensations (with external use), headache, stomach upset, nausea, dizziness, and extreme drowsiness. These side effects tend to occur with high doses of Gotu Kola. If you are the kind of person who burns easily in the sun, take extra precautions as Gotu kola can cause sensitivity to sunlight in some individuals. People with liver disease, or who take medications that affect the liver, should not take Gotu Kola. Anyone with a history of precancerous or cancerous skin lesions -- such as squamous cell, basal cell skin cancer, or melanoma should not use Gotu Kola Gotu Kola is not recommended for children and anyone under the age of 18 years old. Please note: Gotu kola is often confused with kola nut. Due to this confusion, some people assume the rejuvenating properties of Gotu Kola are due to the stimulating effects of caffeine contained in kola nut. Gotu Kola is not related to kola nut and contains no caffeine.

3 Phosphatidylserine (PS)
Unlike many supplements, this substance has been tested extensively on both healthy as well as memory-impaired adults. Phosphatidylserine or its abbreviated name PS, has consistently shown itself to both improve memory and concentration without the serious side effects that so characterize many of todays drugs. In its natural form, Phosphatidylserine is a specialized lipid that occurs naturally in the body and in foods too. It is a necessary component to regulate the function of all cells in our bodies and is found in its highest concentration in the brain.

11

Why Take it? This plant-derived substance can improve the quality of your life by improving the following areas: Strengthen your memory Increase vigilance and attention Boost learning Increase mental acuity Intensify your concentration Relieve depression and improve mood Inhibit stress & exercise induced increases in Cortisol Decrease stress (whether youre young or old)

Because of stress, aging, and our modern eating habits and food-production methods, modern low-fat and low-cholesterol diets lack up to 150 mg per day of dietary Phosphatidylserine. Some vegetarian diets may undersupply as much as 200 to 250 mg per day. Other eating styles also create a demand for more Phosphatidylserine. For example, a diet lacking in omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the amount of Phosphatidylserine in the brain by 28% and as a result impair your brain's ability to form, store, process and remember..! To make matters worse, modern industrial production of fats and oils decreases all of the natural phospholipids (including Phosphatidylserine) naturally found in them.

How it works.. This remarkable substance works by enabling your brain cells to metabolize glucose and to release and bind with neurotransmitters, all of which is important to learning, memory and other cognitive functions. Scientific studies demonstrate that Phosphatidylserine restores the brain's supply and output of acetylcholine, the specific neurotransmitter that is sooo important to memory, and so may even turn back the clock in an aging brain! We also know that Phosphatidylserine is important in bone matrix formation, testicular function, beat coordination of the heart, hormone secretion by the adrenal glands and cell repair and removal by the immune system. Studies examining athletes involved in cycling, weight training and endurance running now show that Phosphatidylserine can speed recovery, prevent muscle soreness and help athletes to feel their best during intense training. Modern science has only really begun to understand how important Phosphatidylserine is to our bodies. After all, it's present in every type of cell in our body and the membrane proteins that it activates are important in all 12

cells. But without a shadow of a doubt it's certainly a great memory-enhancing drug. Whats the Dosage? Phosphatidylserine is a safe nutritional supplement if taken up to a dosage of 200 mg, three times daily. Precautions! With the exception of mild stomach upset, few side effects have been reported. However, due concerns over Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (Mad Cow Disease), supplements are no longer derived from bovine cortex. Instead, this nutrient is now extracted from soy. Soy-derived PS (S-PS) is generally recognized as safe. There are also natural food sources of Phosphatidylserine. Those with the highest concentration include mackerel, herring, tuna, soft-shelled clams, chicken, liver, and white beans Note: PS is most abundant in the brain and in innards such as liver and kidney. Only small amounts of PS can be found in dairy products or in vegetables, with the exception of white beans

4. Piracetam
Piracetam was the first to awake the world to Smart Drugs, or Nootropics, and their ability to improve key brain functions such as memory, attention and intelligence. The drug was developed in the 1960s by a Belgian team led by Dr Corneliu Giurgea. It was Dr Corneliu who coined the word Nootropic taken from the Greek word meaning acting on or towards the mind. Piracetam itself has been described as a drug that wakes up your brain. Today commonly found under the brand name Nootropil, Piracetam has been a revolutionary drug - both as a cognitive enhancer and for delivering benefits with virtually no side effects and toxicity! As the first true brain boosting Smart Drug, Piracetam has earned a unique place in medical history.

13

Why Piracetam? Originally prescribed as a motion sickness aid, Piracetam has been shown to significantly improve age-related memory problems, even with those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease! It also helps with improving chronic cerebral ischemia, or decreased brain blood flow. Again its worth mentioning, the main reason I have included it in my top five, is that it doesn't have any serious side effects or contain any toxic or addictive properties!! There are very few drugs that can make that claim. Today it is renowned as a drug that: Improves learning and concentration. Improves intelligence across all age groups, benefiting both young and old alike. Sharpens the mental performance of older people with age-related problems such as forgetfulness Improves IQ amongst elderly psychiatric patients Enhances alertness

In addition, Piracetam has been used effectively in the treatment of Parkinsons disease, myoclonus (severe muscle spasms), sickle cell anaemia and Reynauds syndrome, a condition that causes the blood vessels in the fingers and toes to go into spasm. The drug has helped people with dyslexia to increase memory and verbal learning skills, as well as the speed and accuracy of reading, writing and spelling. The drug has also been used to combat hypoxia related to dangerous jobs or altitude, such as mountaineering and the effects of reduced oxygen levels during climbs. As you can see Piracetam is a bit of an all rounder to say the least. Covering a vast and varied array of conditions, its role as a key drug in anti-aging, preventative medicine, medical treatment and mental performance is now clear. How it works.. Piracetam (Nootropil) stimulates the central nervous system to improve cognitive functions including memory, attention and intelligence. By stimulating the bodys central nervous system, the brains main communications network, the Corpus Callosum is noticeably bolstered.

14

The Corpus Callosum consists of millions of nerve fibers, connecting the brains two hemispheres and linking our logical and creative sides. Enlivening these links enables us to draw on greater brain potential. Helping our brains to work more effectively and delaying, or even reversing, the impact of time and disease on our grey matter. These have been the key uses for Piracetam at the moment. Mental performance in older people, senior citizens that are generally in good health but experiencing everyday age related issues such as forgetfulness, has been shown to be boosted by Piracetam. In a further test by Chouinard, elderly psychiatric patients showed signs of enhanced alertness, co-operation, socialisation and IQ with the drug. Although Piracetam has earned an enviable reputation in the anti-aging arena, research has revealed its potency to help not just the elderly but people of all ages! A groundbreaking study by Diamond and Brouwers, which involved students in good physical and mental shape taking Piracetam, underlined its benefits to the young. The authors concluded: The fact is that Piracetam improves verbal learning and appears to be a substance capable of extending the intellectual functions of man, even in individuals gifted with high intelligence and good memory.

Whats the dosage? A common starting dose is to take three 800mg tablets twice a day, lowering to one or two tablets twice a day after a month. The effect of Piracetam can be increased if taken with the brain nutritional products DMAE (short for Dimethylaminoethanol, see section 5), Centrophenoxine, Choline or Hydergine.

Precautions! Mild side effects include insomnia, nausea, headaches, tremors, nervousness, etc.. Sounds a little worrying but the severity of these side effects have been reported as mild. Piracetam is not a nutritional supplement but a prescribed drug. It is available online however it must be prescribed by a doctor. All in all, a very encouraging reports. This one's a keeper.

5. Omega 3 Supplements & D.M.A.E

Omega 3, one of the oldest and still one of the best! Used for generations, in fact, my grandmother first gave it to me, who swore by it health benefits.. plus its also very affordable!! Why Omega 3 ? Ok, Omega 3 fish oil supplements are not memory supplements per se. However, this versatile supplement is pound for pound the most capable nutritional supplement in the world. Omega 3 fish oils are truly fantastic overall for mental health and wellbeing, so it should be in your arsenal of regularly used memory supplements. There are many health benefits of Omega 3 fish oil supplements but the key brain reasons include: Reducing blood pressure Lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels Improved memory Overall improved brain functioning and performance

How it works.. Studies have shown the fatty acid, DHA, are the primary precursor for improved brain and heart function in Omega 3 supplements. DHA and EPA (also found in the supplement) build healthy nerve tissue and promote memory and cognitive function. They not only help your brain function well but also limit the severity of manic-depressive episodes in those thus afflicted. If your budget is tight and you want to optimize your supplements, consider fish oil supplements. Whats The Dosage? Around 500 mg (1/2 gram) minimum of EPA and DHA a day for healthy people, and around 1000 mg (1 gram) a day for known heart disease patients, perhaps double for lowering triglycerides. The best fish oil supplements contain 280 mg of DHA and 120 mg of EPA per capsule. (Thats more than double the normal amount of DHA in most average capsules). A total of 400mg of DHA and EPA.

16

So 2 capsules a day will give you 800 mg in total and the recommended dosage for adult happens to be 2 capsules a day. Other fish oil supplements may require you to take 4 or 5 or more capsules, depending on the quantity of Omega 3 fats in those capsules. However if you take fish oil in its liquid form you can get nearly three times as much DHA and EPA. Its not uncommon to see listed on the ingredients of cod liver oil bottles, DHA & EPA amounts totalling 1000mg in every spoonful! Precautions! None! Just remember to make sure your fish oil supplement has DHA over EPA and make sure your fish oil pills are molecularly distilled. This ensures that its free of contaminants. Also look for memory boosting pills that are made from deep-water fish like the hoki. This one's definitely a keeper too!!

DMAE
Ive included DMAE and omega 3 supplements together because DMAE is a naturally occurring nutrient found in high concentrations in fish. DMAE is an acronym for a metabolite identified as mentioned earlier dimethylaminoethenol, a natural chemical in the body that is a by-product of the metabolic process. And its one of the most powerful memory supplements that most people aren't even aware exists!! Why DMAE? DMAE can Elevate one's mood Counter depression Boost cognitive functions (such as memory and concentration), Increase intelligence.

And again the great thing about them, there is no known side effects with DMAE! Research has revealed that DMAE can be used to minimize damage to deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), to stimulate memory and superior brain functioning, to improve immunological functions and to improve one's digestive functions and basically extend one's life span.. Not bad eh!

17

DMAE also can be taken to improve the condition of one's heart, to treat attention deficit disorder, to increase one's energy levels and to improve the condition of one's skin. How It Works.. DMAE benefits stem from this nutrient's role in manufacturing Acetylcholine, the crucial neurotransmitter that is responsible for healthy mental functioning. Indeed, Acetylcholine's main role is in acting as the messenger for memory, and has been shown to be severely depleted in those afflicted with Alzheimers In that respect it similar to Phosphatidylserine, which restores the brain's supply and output of Acetylcholine.

Whats the dosage? There are several methods for taking DMAE, all of which prove simple. First of all decide whether you will use a DMAE serum or an oral product; refrain from using both products at the same time. Start using DMAE slowly and increase your dosage over a period of time when using DMAE capsules; Begin with a dosage of 100 milligrams per day. Add more DMAE supplements to your intake every couple of days after testing how the DMAE makes you feel. Document any effects you receive from the DMAE capsules when you begin to take them Note if there are positive effects on your memory, on your immunological defences, on your skin and on how you feel in general. Increase the dosage every couple of days, working up to 400 milligrams, if no improvements are noted.

Keep your DMAE dosages to above 100 milligrams to improve your memory as lower doses do not have an effect on one's memory. You can take as much as 400 milligrams of DMAE each day to increase your memory and to enhance your level of alertness What I really like about DMAE, infact with most of these five supplements in this special report, is that they work well together. Like Ginkgo Biloba and Gotu Kola, DMAE works well with Omega 3 and Piracetam. Beautiful..

18

Precautions! Some general guidelines use DMAE before breakfast and lunch to avoid issues with insomnia and sleep disturbances; do not take DMAE before dinner or before bedtime so that you can avoid overstimulation. Decrease the amount of DMAE you are consuming orally if you note an increase in muscular tension, in headaches, anxiety, irritability, restlessness or stiffness in your neck, shoulders and/or jaw. Keep lowering the dosage until the symptoms disappear and cease using the product if symptoms persist even after lowering your DMAE dosage. Periodically stop using DMAE when you are feeling the benefits of the product. You can restart use when you feel that the benefits are no longer accessible to you to minimize how much DMAE you rely on and to prevent bodily resistance to the product If you have bipolar disorder or if you have epileptic seizures, you should not use DMAE, as the product can over stimulate your brain and induce episodes of mania or seizures. DMAE also can intensify depression; if you are suffering from major depression, or depression associated with bipolar disorder, avoid taking this product. Please Note: Acetylcholine cannot be produced by DMAE alone; the presence of some B vitamins -- like Vitamin B5, Biotin, and Folic Acid, aids in the production of DMAE.

Bonus Section!!
More Info, Tips & Great Supplements To Look Out For.. Ok, I couldnt help myself, as a bonus for you, Ive included some basic information, tips and a few more, commonly known supplements to look out for that you may or may not be aware of that also improve memory and brain performance. As a simple guideline, always keep in mind that the best memory supplements contain natural medicinal Herbs. Natural herbs that may also improve memory and performance to look out for are: Passion Flower ~ although most supplements you find geared towards memory will contain Ginkgo Biloba, also look out for Passion Flower. This also may increase cerebral blood flow and improve mood and decrease nervousness.

19

Ginseng ~ a herb that helps energize and revitalize the body, so it stands to reason, as has been reported, that it should also have a positive affect on the brain and thus the memory. Rosemary ~ another herb which helps stimulate the brain and in turn the memory too.

For those wanting a little more insight and info, a complete supplement for memory should also include the following natural ingredients from herbs and plants: Periwinkle plant Vinpocetine ~ an extract acting as a vasoconstrictor that increases blood flow in the brain, improving concentration and memory Baccopna monnierie ~ an Asian herb with natural bacoside phytonutrients that aid our brain transmitters when memorizing Huperzia serrata A ~ a Chinese moss herb that helps the activity of our brain's neurotransmitters especially helpful for mild age-related memory problems.

As tends to be the case the most effective memory supplements contain several complex compounds that unfortunately also have complex names! A good tip to remember (or maybe at this stage write down if your memory not too good! Lol!) is to look out for any supplements that contain compounds like 5-hydroxytryptophan and amino acids like L-Tyrosine listed in the ingredients. These both can help the body produce and utilize important neurotransmitters. And finally Id like to end on a high note and close this report with some surprisingly good and encouraging news.. Drum roll please! One of the most common, readily available and affordable boosts to memory and performance is good old Coffee and Chocolate!! Surprised? Well I was when I actually researched the data and results. You see in recent years, there have been a lot of bad reviews concerning consuming food products that contain caffeine in large amounts like coffee, certain teas and even chocolate. But recent studies have shown that caffeine can play a significant role in improving memory. In fact caffeine turns out to be an excellent brain stimulant, great for your short-term memory

20

whereas most people believed that it only stimulated our bodies, specifically our heartbeat and metabolism. Coffee rich in caffeine also helps your brain to focus, by giving it that extra spark it needs to retain and process extra information quickly. Just ask any working professional going to work in the mourning or student studying for his or hers final exams the night before. If you happen to suffer from memory loss or just a poor memory think about testing caffeine for its mind benefits as it could be just the thing you need to give your brain that extra boost to clear things up. However my advice is to always choose green tea instead of coffee for your source of caffeine, as green tea is an excellent source of antioxidant. All antioxidants are excellent brain preservers and enhancers, which help fight free radicals, and they can also enhance the flow of oxygen throughout the brain and the body. Along with some black teas, green tea appears to have the best overall effect of greatly boosting a person's ability to remember and overall health. So with a good hit of caffeine and large dose of antioxidant in every cup of green tea. You get the best of both worlds. Everyones a winner! ~~~~~~~~ But did you also know that according to numerous scientific studies, dark chocolate (not the milk chocolate variety) is actually good for your brain and circulatory system? As well as small doses of caffeine found in it, dark chocolate is also full of flavonoids, which is also an antioxidant. It just so happens Ginkgo Biloba is also rich in the antioxidant flavonoids too! Starting to see the connection here..? Now its those flavanols in chocolate that are supposedly good for your heart, scientists also now claim increases blood flow to the brain, especially in the areas of the brain that control alertness. According to the Journal of Medicinal Food, chocolate is one of the richest sources of magnesium a mineral essential for brain health. Research at the Salk Institute in California also say that a chemical found in chocolate epicatechin is also found in cocoa, tea, grapes and blueberries and the researchers believe it improves the blood flow in the brain too, especially in combination with extra exercise. 21

With all this increased blood flow to the brain from chocolate, research done at the Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia suggests, chocolate can boost memory, attention span, reaction time and problem solving. Chocolate is something that I really enjoy and a piece of dark chocolate can have large influence on the mid afternoon lull that many people experience. Taking a break by walking to your local coffee shop and eating a piece of chocolate can significantly boost your brain for the rest of the day. But remember, it has to be Dark and 85% real cocoa to get any real benefits. Ok not everybodys cup of green tea but if you get really good quality, smooth, rich dark chocolate, your taste bud will soon start to enjoy savouring the taste of real chocolate rather than just the sugar, fat and milk found in white and milk chocolate. So, my friend, bring on the flavonoids! If you have to take a test, before you do, get yourself a powerful dose of focused brain fuel in the form of a cup of green tea and a few squares of Dark organic chocolate and youll be unstoppable!
