IS MANAGEMENT AN ART
In straight and simple terms, management is the technique of exercising control for achieving set goals of the target with this simple definition it is not difficult to see that such exercising of control(self discipline) applies to ones personal life as much as it does to what in the external world. According to the peter drucker management relates closely to the spirit of the arts, which infact is also true for all creative endeavors of man kind in any field he says The essence of management is to make knowledge productive. In other words management is a social function and in its practice management is truly a liberal art. Anyone who has experience of managing different type of organization would agree that 90% of management is management of people and 90% of management of people is management of self so infact management is nothing but the management of self. Manager works is to hear, watch and assess and assigns responsibility based on assessment the result reflects his ability to see and hear sensitively. To make good assessment it is not only the written and spoken word which convey the meaning, it is also the mood, gesture, choice of place. Management is leadership and essential aspect of leadership is not only to cope up with changes but indeed to bring them about. Many quantum philisests including novels, belief- as Budhist philosopher always did that t he final building lock of the Universe is neither matter nor energy, neither electron nor proton nor any other particle; the ultimate reality is human consciousness.

WHAT I S ART

Defining art is one of the most illusive concept in the history of human thought. Art always lacks satisfactory definition it is easier to describe it as the way something is done The use of the skills and imagination in the creation of aesthetic objects, environment or experiences that can be shared with others rather than what it is. Art alone enjoys a unique freedom, a unique capacity to mix all directions of human experiences. A scientist conducts his experiments in a particular situation and then deduces conclusions of the general law that lie behind the observed phenomenon but in art the specific story or the picture touches something Universal in the heart and creates an immediate sense of general. A work of art is essentially a sharing of experiences between the artist and the viewer in a unique way, a work of art leads us to experience the range and limitations of human situations.

MODERN ART AND INDUSTRIAL SOCIETY

Since the industrial revolution, which took shape in the west over the last few centuries, has affected the organization of human life everywhere. It would be relevant to say that primary objective of modern art is not to provide answers to question on the human situation. The aim of art has always been to elicit the viewers curiosity, to open an area of investigation about a vital aspect of life wich can not be ignored by an intelligent person. Why a discussion about art relevant in context of industrial society and its style of organizing human activities ? To find the answer, it is perhaps necessary to link the question to the dominance that western thought models continue exercise over wide dimension of life the world over. Most management principles of todays world are based on the industrial and technological models of of progress originating from the west.

IMAGINATION : SPRING BOARD OF MANAGEMENT

Imagination is a word commonly associated with the arts it distinguishes man from animals and all other life on earth. Human beings have the ability to visualize the things and concepts in their minds eye, in total absence of their physical presence. Imagination works with the human ability to recall the past in a way that it has a visual impact. By rearranging g the images of past experience in our mind we are able to project them in hypothetical situation. The entire process of human thought and feelings are infact a series of photographic images which flow through the mind.

CONCLUSION This book is good at raising the particular aspect of management; that management is art. The author gives a new turn to the issue relating to management as an art or science by raising question about creativity and a new learning that are vital to any discipline of knowledge. But to the some extent book is limited to only explaining the artistic approach of management
