About AROH
AROH Foundation is a registered non-profit, non-governmental organisation founded by like-minded professionals, to give back to the society. AROH team has the best minds from the academic pool, development sector and corporate management. AROH has, over the years developed sound sustainable programmes to cater to the development needs of its target communities. AROH has been actively involved in several community welfare programmes for the past 10 years.

Our approach
AROH has designed and adopted a twopronged strategy to achieve its objective of providing better opportunities to the less privileged, thereby empowering and enabling them to live with dignity and security. We undertake research activities in the areas of concern to strengthen and consolidate the policy-level decisions for government schemes. Alongside, we get actively involved in action with the communities, to make a direct difference to quality of their lives. We work with a holistic, people-centric approach and besides providing livelihood opportunities, we plan and run programmes on education, health and hygiene, sanitation, etc. under the overall goal of empowerment of community. Use of indigenous talent and resources is encouraged in all projects.

Our Vision
AROH seeks a world where people live in dignity and security and there are equal opportunities for all.

Our Mission
To provide effective assistance to the underprivileged, weak and poor people and communities, especially women, in rural and semi-rural areas and slums by way of developing their life-skills, economic-skills and sociocultural-skills and making them selfreliant. AROHs overarching mission is to create an equitable society where all human beings coexist with dignity.

Research Projects
AROH has a strong base for carrying out research in development sector. We have been handling various research projects for the Government and assisting Ministries like Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Indian Council for Social Science Research, UNESCO, etc in research and strategy planning through our expertise.

Objectives
AROH works with the core objective of empowering the rural poor and backward communities, especially women, so that they create a model society for themselves. This in turn encompasses some specific objectives which are reflected in our projects. To develop the traditional and vocational skills of the target communities for gainful vocation, better income opportunities and sustainable livelihoods. To enhance educational opportunities for deprived and out-of-school children, and free them from the life of drudgery and slavery. To facilitate better health for all in the community. To create awareness about hygiene and sanitation, and to create a better environment.

Community-based Action
Over the years, we have developed a sound replicable model of community development which aims at social, economical and cultural empowerment of its people. We have designed 12 specific interventions, which we call building blocks, to cater to the need of any marginalised and deprived group or community. These building blocks not only address the basic issues of education, livelihood and health, but also take the community a step forward by giving them socio-cultural enrichment through various need-based programmes for enhancement of standard of their lives. AROH is sensitive to the needs of vulnerable groups of women and children, specially those who are victims of difficult circumstances. We create a safe and childfriendly learning environment in our centres which also become the contact points to help the entire family through various interventions. A promising future waits for young boys and girls who pass through our livelihood programmmes and have a guaranteed job after the course.

Our beneficiaries
Our focus is on deprived, disadvantaged and marginalised women, youth and children from rural and semi-rural communities, urban slums and resettlement communities in Delhi and NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan.

Our Partners in Action

We work in synergy with the government welfare schemes to bring a host of benefits provided by the government to the community level. Realising the paucity of government resources for the vast population, we seek corporate support under their CSR agenda for our specific projects. AROH is registered under FCRA, which gives us the advantage of accepting foreign and multilateral funding for our community projects. We also draw on the strength of many responsible citizens and youth, who are keen to join hands and give us volunteer support for our programmes. We have a strong volunteer programme in place where we welcome all Indian and overseas volunteers and devise special interventions to utilise their expertise. We need your Support
