Objectives of the course: This course offers to learn IT Service Management life cycle and its importance in enterprise business. What is Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and how it helps to manage IT infrastructure to deliver IT services more effectively and efficiently. Overview of IBM Service Management Framework Introduction to IBM Tivoli software with focus on Tivoli Security Management portfolio. Understanding LDAP Directory and Tivoli Directory Server Implementation (ITDS) Hands-on Labs and Tivoli Certification (ITDS 6.1) preparation. Required Prerequisites: a. Working knowledge of server operating systems (Unix, Linux and Windows) including administration b. Basic understanding of Networking, TCP/IP and LDAP c. Basic understanding of Load balancing and Failover d. Basic understanding of Databases and Application server. e. Working knowledge of DB2 (including administrative skills) f. Working knowledge of general security concepts including PKI, digital certificates, SSL/TLS, DMZ, firewall, authentication and authorization. g. A basic understanding of LDAP fundamentals is recommended. Contents Of The Course Tivoli Workshop is conducted over total of 4 days and divided in 2 Parts: Sections 1- 4 will be delivered on Day1, and Section 5 will be delivered over following 3 days. 1. Introduction to IT Service Management and Industry standards Define Service and IT Service Management. ITSM is a discipline for managing information technology (IT) systems, centered on the customer's perspective of IT's contribution to the business. ITSM is process-focused and has ties and common interests with process improvement movement (e.g., TQM, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, CMMI) frameworks and methodologies. 2. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITILv3) Framework

ITIL is a set of concepts and policies for managing information technology (IT) infrastructure, development and operations. Five key volumes comprise the ITIL v3, published in May 2007 Service Strategy Service Design Service Transition Service Operation Continual Service Improvement The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a collection of best practices in IT Service Management. ITIL is relevant to anyone involved in the delivery or support of IT services. 3. Overview of IBM Service Management (ISM) Framework IBM Service Management is built on the Tivoli Service Management Platform and wrapped with best practices, methodologies and services that help customers better manage the business of IT by delivering Visibility, Control and Automation. IBM Service Management Platform provides the most integrated set of capabilities in the industry for everything from how to manage key business processes to making sure only the right people are inside of systems and accessing the right information.
