Essentials of Modern Business Statistics with Microsoft Excel. Fourth Edition (customized), David R. Anderson, Dennis J. Sweeney, and Thomas A. Williams, Thomson South-Western. Math 1313, Math 1314, and credit for or concurrent enrollment in MIS 3300 July 14 is the last day to drop without receiving a grade, and the last day to drop without hours counting towards the Enrollment Cap for Texas Residents. July 27 is the last day to drop. Students requesting to drop by July 27 will receive a W. There will be five assignments that will be graded on a 0-100 scale. The homework average will be calculated with the best four scores. There will be three, closed-book, exams. They are scheduled for: 1) July 15 or July 16 2) July 22 or July 23 3) August 9 or August 10 A grade of 0 (zero) will be given for a missed exam. Exams will be graded on a 0-100 scale, and the scores will not be curved. All exams will be computerized and will be administered at the Center for Academic Support and Assessment (CASA) Testing Center located in 221 Garrison Gym. Students are responsible to schedule their exams with CASA. The calculator available for the exam can be accessed at http://online.math.uh.edu/calculator/Disc.htm and the documentation can be reached at http://online.math.uh.edu/calculator/JavaScriptCalcDocumentation.htm Please practice using this calculator as much as possible because CASA does not allow personal calculators in their testing center. No makeup exams will be given unless there is a documented, extenuating circumstance and I am notified before the exam. Makeup exams will be given in my office and will be considerably more difficult than the actual exams.

Your combined score for the course will be based on the computer assignment grade (CA), and the exam scores (E1, E2, and E3), averaged as (CA + E1 + E2 + E3)/4. The final grades will be assigned strictly according to the schedule in the table above.
Food and Drinks: Bringing food or drinks of any kind to the classroom is unacceptable. Students breaking this rule will be asked to leave the room. The use of cellular phones or pagers in class is prohibited. The use of desktop computers during class is not needed nor allowed for this course. The University of Houston Academic Honesty Policy is strictly enforced by the C. T. Bauer College of Business. No violations of this policy will be tolerated in this course.
