GSM Global System for Mobile communications

Description GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) is a digital cellular communications system. It was developed in order to create a common European mobile telephone standard but it has been rapidly accepted worldwide. GSM has been designed to be compatible with ISDN services. This course gives a broad overview of the GSM system and explains in greater depth how nodes in GSM communicate to provide voice and circuit-switched services. Objectives On completion of this course the student should be able to: Cellular System Concepts. Effects on Radio Communication. Multiple Access Techniques. GSM Network Structure. GSM Air Interface. GSM signaling. Mobile equipment. Traffic Cases. Course Duration 24 hours Who should attend? strategic or technical managers, consultants, communications professionals, software engineers, system engineers, network professionals, marketing and sales professional, IT professionals, and others who plan on using, evaluating or working with GSM, EDGE, GPRS, 3G and other wireless networks, applications and services. Engineers, technicians, and technical managers with technical backgrounds but limited wireless experience.

GSM Radio Planning

Description The GSM Radio Network Planning designed to provide a solid understanding of how a radio network is designed and planned for GSM. The course emphasizes the understanding of the intimate relation between capacity and coverage and the impact on capacity and coverage by different parameters. GSM Radio Network Planning includes illustrative examples and practical exercises.
