IMC Networks Announces New Telco Powered IE-MiniMc Media Converters with Link Fault Pass-Through Functionality

A low-cost solution that assists in identifying network breaks

Washington, D.C., FOSE, Booth #1601July 19, 2011 - IMC Networks, a leading manufacturer of media conversion and optical Ethernet solutions for government, enterprise and service providers, announces the expansion of its optical network demarcation media converter family, with the introduction of its Telco powered IE-MiniMc media converter product line. The IMC Networks IE-MiniMc is one of the most popular and versatile fiber optic NID devices available on the market today. The product family provides the best value, holding to the test-of-time for media conversion applications since it was first introduced in January 2003. Today, the newly enhanced product line is designed to work with -48 VDC power, supporting the minimum and maximum transient voltages, typically required by transport equipment used in Telco environments. When we added the extended temperature feature to the MiniMc, this provided a solution to expand to a wider base of users and locations. Now with the added Telco power (-35 to -56 VDC), the range has grown once again. Additionally, customers can be assured that they are getting a reliable and sustainable product at the best price, states David Zaveski, Senior Sales Engineer at IMC Networks. Additionally, the product offers Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT), a feature that provides fault-detection monitoring on a network line where service provider access is minimal; such as areas where the POP or Telco box reside. The IE-MiniMc is a miniature size module that can be DIN Rail mounted or installed into the IE-PowerTray/18 for high density applications. Key features include: Stand-alone miniature form factor 10/100 Mbps twisted pair port Telco compatible -48 VDC (-35 to -56 VDC) IE (Industrial Equipment) Extended Temperature of -25 C to +85 C (DC) AC, DC power and PoE/PD IEEE 802.3af PoE/PD compliant Link Fault Pass-Through
