Before he attended Hermann Lietz School at Ettersburg Castle, he was very good in languages but failed physics and maths. But during his time at the school, he became interested in astronomy and overcame his failures. He was also fascinated by the theories of space flight and Herbert Oberths book, The Rocket into Planetary Space. Wernher von Braun then enrolled in the Charlottenburg institute of technology in Berlin and became and active member of the Society for space travel. Also, it was the basis of the U.S. ballistic missile and the first liquid fuel rocket. If Wernher von braun had not invented the V-2 rocket, liquid fuel rockets might not have been used now.
