Introduction Due to the fast emerging of DVD in our country, The penetration of digital technology into our society has been proceed at an extraordinary pace (Atkins, 2002). meaning because we are said to be in the Digital Age almost majority of the students population is digitally inclined compared before. Students today are now open in a world wherein life is easier because of technology. Information technology has stimulated profound changes in our lifestyle. We found loosening constraints of space and time (Duderstadt, 2002). This paper will show the study if the subtitles in a DVD can help Filipino students improve second language learning. In this paper, people will be enlighten that DVD is not only a device for entertainment but also can be a tool for learning. According to Saitono (1991) Second Language Acquisition (SLA) refers the ways in which any learners, child or adult; discover a second or foreign language In relation to that study, this paper will provide information that students really learn from DVD subtitles here in the Philippines specifically Filipino students in De La Salle University. This will also the answer the question; Do Filipino students learn new words while watching DVD? and Can Filipino students improve their vocabulary reading the DVD? This is the main questions that will be tackled in the paper. This paper can also provide a distinct investigation on how the Filipino students use their knowledge regarding on how they can learn using DVD.

II. Methodology All in all, sixty students from different colleges in De La Salle University-Manila like College of Education, College of Liberal Arts, College of Computer Studies, College of Engineering, College of Business and Economics and lastly College of Science. Ten students per college were surveyed. Students were politely asked if they are willing to take part in the said survey. The survey will see if DVDs help the respondents in terms of language learning. The respondents are from De La Salle University- Manila. De La Salle University was established in 1911 when the Brothers of the Christian Schools release their earliest school in the Philippines on General Luna Street in the remarkable city of Manila. In this university, 60 respondents were gathered to take part in answering the said survey. The information was gathered in the process will be collected and be analyzed to see the findings. Graphs, charts and tables will represent the data with appropriate explanations. The average will be the basis of the results of the findings. To support the respondents answers, informal interview is being conducted to elaborate on their knowledge on the said topic.
