COMMANDER & 1SGS CORNER

Comanche Troop is in high gear and your Troopers are kicking butt. Since the last news letter, your Troopers were part of the Squadrons first two joint Air Assault missions. We flew to the Nuristan Province and secured two separate District Centers in the Districts of Parun and Wama. These Districts sit at an altitude of more than 8,000 feet and are surrounded by some of the most rugged terrain I have ever seen. Your Troopers and their leaders rehearsed, rehearsed, and rehearsed and then executed the missions flawlessly. I believe there is nothing this Troop cant accomplish. We are focused on 4 major Lines of Effort, or LOEs as we call them. They are support to Governance, Civil Support and Civil Security, Economic Development, and Support to Essential Services. Your Troopers are helping the Afghan Government become more effective; helping the Police secure villages and the border; helping local businesses become sustainable and grow; and finally, your Troopers are working with schools and clinics to make them more effective. All of this is being done in complete partnership with our Afghan friends. Recondo!! To the families and friends, thank you for your outstanding support of the Soldiers of the Troop. Your enduring support and care has been instrumental in our ability to be so successful thus far. I can only ask that you keep up the hard work back there on the home front. We are all as proud of you as you are of us. Thank you for allowing us to focus on the mission and not worry about how things are going at home. With families that look out for each other and help each other out when in need. With new children being born, sick children and family members and even when a family member passes, you band together to get through it. We can not do what we do with out all of you. We are forever in your debt and always in awe of your abilities to persevere in some of the craziest situations. You inspire us to be better at what we do. Thank you. Aloha
