Calculation Example of Battery Operation Time Calculation Condition

Battery capacitance: 2000mWh (3.6V x 550mW) A. LCD power dissipation :75mW (using TFT) B. LCD back light LED power dissipation : 162mW (15mA x 3 pcs x 3.6V) C. Keypad illumination LED power dissipation : 290mW (10mA x 8 pcs x 3.6V)

Case 1: Continuous Key operation Operation time = 2000 / (A+B+C) = 2000/527 = 4 h Case 2: Keypad illumination turned off Operation time = 2000 / (A+B) = 2000/237 = 8 h Case 3: Keypad illumination, LCD back light turned off Operation time = 2000 / (A) = 2000/ 75 = 26 h Long Operation Time

Advantages
High CTR devices which use high efficiency LED achieves the following advantages: 1. Prolong the system life
The design margin for the degradation of LED is expanded by lower current driving. High efficiency LED can realize lower current driving

2. Lower power consumption 3. Improve the noise level

4. Speed up on the switching time

To reduce the load resistance of a phototransistor can improve the tolerance of noises ; line noise, disturbance light noise, etc.

To reducing of the load resistance for a phototransistor. switching time can be shortened and detection speed is improved.
