Admission Process for Pursuing PhD Course & admissibility of students as per the guidelies publshied by UGC July 11, 2009

1. ELIGIBILITY

For admission to the Ph.D programme , applicants fulfilling the following criteria shall be treated as eligible.

a) Persons having passed Post Graduate degree (Masters Degree), with at least 55% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) of any recognized University of India. 5% relaxation for reserve category students. OR b) Persons having passed Master Degree by Research of any recognized University of India. OR c) Persons having passed M.Phi degree of any recognized University of India OR d) Persons working in National Laboratories - Institutes - Government Private Organization nominated/sponsored by the respective employer. These persons should have a post Graduate Degree and holding the rank of Assistant Director/or above. OR

e) Persons in professional faculties like Engineering, Pharmacy, Ayurved, Medicine, Law, Homeopathy etc. having passed graduate Degree and have got at least 10 years professional experience. OR f) Senior citizen of 60 years of age and above with graduate degree with 50% marks in exceptional cases at the discretion f Vice Chancellor OR g) The fellow members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and/or Institute of Cost and works Accountants and/or having qualification of Company Secretary shall be eligible for registration for PH.D in the subject by the concerned board of studies in the facility of commerce provided that they possess a Bachelors degree of any statutory University. Such candidate should have at least five years professional experience. OR h) A graduate in any faculty who has developed important new techniques (New for the country) or designed and fabricated special instruments or apparatus which are deemed by competent judge to be a valuable contribution to engineering/pharmacy may be permitted by the competent authorities of the University to submit his thesis for the Ph.D degree in that faculty OR

Application for research in inter-disciplinary areas and from applicant belonging to a faculty or subject other than the faculty or subject in which the research is proposed to be done and from the international candidates(those who have not obtained the Masters Degree from Indian Universities) shall be considered on the basis of the proven ability and aptitude of the researcher for such kind of research. Such proposal shall be examined by the Guide and the competent authorities of the University for admission and approval of the topic. Five years work experience in related field is necessary for such candidates OR

Admission percentage for foreign candidates(those who have not obtained Masters Degree from Indian Universities) will be 55% or equivalent GPA.

Note: 1. The above mentioned rules will also be application to the foreign candidates Who have obtained a Masters Degree from the statutory Indian Universities. 2, The chairperson can relax the above rules if deemed fit on case to case basis as per recommendations of the subject experts/Research Co-ordination Committee.

2. REGISTRATION Every eligible student who desires to pursue Ph.D from this University has to register by filling the Registration form along with the fees of Rs. 1600/- and sign the declaration that the student has understood all the regulations of the University and shall abide the same. Form can be collected from University office or download from the web site under the menu of Research in the web site.

Pre-Phd. Entrance Test

a) After registration is completed student will have to pay the tuition fees of Rs. 24,000/- or Rs. 32,000/- or Rs. 48,000/- and appear for entrance test. In case student doe not qualify in the entrance test, his tuition fees will be refunded within a reasonable time. b) The Pre-Ph.D entrance test will be conducted by the University as per guidelines issued by the UGC and the University from time to time. Exemption for PH.D Entrance Test(PET) 1. The Candidate fulfilling one of the conditions will be exempted from pre-Ph.D Entrance Test (PET) 2. Completed M. Phil degree from any recognized University in India.

3. Qualified in GATESET/NET/JRF CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT only.

Note : Registration forms should be submitted by the exempted candidates before interview within stipulated time with relevant supporting documents.

4. INTERVIEW Every Person if he/she is eligible and qualifies as per above conditions and desirous of pursuing research work for the Ph.D degree should appear for the interview before the committee constituted for the purpose. At the time of interview, candidates are expected to discuss their research interest/area and submit the Annexure A duly filled singed. The balance fees if not paid for the first year, should be paid before interview and in case fails in the interview, term fees will be refunded within a reasonable time.

5. ALLOTMENT OF RESEARCH GUIDE a) Allotment of Research Guide will be done by the University and shall not be left to the Individual candidate or the Guide. b) In case the University does not provide the Guide to the Research Scholar within 30 days, Research Scholar should write to the University about the same. c) Guide once provided can be changed only on exceptional circumstances

6. COMPLETION OF Ph.D Fill the Registration form as specified, follow the standard procedure, follow the terms and conditions and signing the declaration, a student can complete Ph.D programme.
