Dear President Obama, When you first started campaigning for your first presidential election I took very

little notice; I had always been a supporter of McCain and still believe that he would have made a good President and wanted to vote for him in 2000. I did not vote for him for two reasons, one being that he chose Sarah Palin (there were much more qualified women to choose from) as his running mate and two because you were promising immigration reform. I feel completely duped, while you had democrat majority in both the house and the senate you did not push for it, instead you pushed health care reform. Although, I agree that needed to be reformed; I still believe you could have pushed harder on immigration reform. Immigration Reform is a very important issue for my entire family and while you have pushed for the DREAM ACT lately and finally put prosecutorial discretion in place (which may not even work) your administration has increased deportations substantially. Also, audits and worksite raids have increased. I just dont understand why I should vote for you in the upcoming election. My husband was deported in 2006 and we have spent time together and separated since then. I am an American Citizen by birth as are my parents, siblings and all 6 of my children. Two of which remain in the United States with my ex-husband and his family. I have not seen two of my children since 2006 one of which has had severe abandonment and psychological issues arise since my absence. Tell me how do you choose between your children? Are they not equally loved in your eyes? My other children face either growing up without their father or living in extreme poverty with risk to their health and educational futures in South America. I speak very little Spanish which would keep me from having a work or social life there. My husband works 50 hrs a week to bring home a $150/month. If my husband were in the states he could make 3-4k per month in his field. I need my husbands income in the states, as I would not be able to work and take care of my children; my family is not in any situation to help. Over the past year my mother has been diagnosed with dementia, borderline diabetes, had an MSRA Staph infection and has lost her support network. My mother has been sober for 21 years and confided with me that it has been so hard she thought about taking a drink. I cannot help her if I am not there and I fear that if I dont go home soon, she will lose her battle with alcoholism. Basically, I may never see my Mother, Father, Sisters, Nieces or friends ever again if my husbands i601 and i-212 waivers were not approved. There is no guarantee of approval for these waivers as they are discretionary and there are no real guidelines for adjudicators to follow. What it comes down to, I know my voice is not being heard; when I write to my State Officials their staffers send back responses that have twisted my words to fit their beliefs and views. I will continue to write them in the hopes that they will get my message but, I doubt they will listen. So I have decided to upload my letters for everyone to see as well. In my heart I dont believe that there are as many people that hate undocumented migrants or want to harm families like mine as there are those that support us. I am going to encourage everyone to do as I am doing, even if they disagree with me. I believe it is time that We the People of the United States of America are heard loud and clear.

Mr. President, I urge you to think about voters like me because we are increasing in numbers and starting to speak out. Thank You, R. Candia
