Ms.

Clarks Chemistry
I am very excited about being your Chemistry teacher for this year. I hope that you will learn many interesting things and that you acquire problem solving skills that will benefit you in both your personal and professional life. You will have three lecture classes a week. These are single period classes in room 104. Twice a week you will have a lab class. Lab classes will meet in room 103 for a double period. The days alternating the lab days are a study hall period. For the most part we will stick to the days of the week assigned on your schedule. Occasionally we may change lab days. On the first day of the week, I will give you a weekly assignment sheet which will let you know about class work, homework assignments, and lab assignment with due dates. Please keep these sheets for reference for the week. You can also get your assignments from my website. Please ask for help as soon as you feel lost. I will be happy to help. Any time you or your parent need to contact me by email me at ch_clark@lgca.org or call and leave a message with the office at 285-4057.

Please do not to miss class or labs. If you do you will fall behind very quickly. If you do miss lab, make ups must be arranged with me on the day of your return.

You will take a comprehensive midterm at the end of the second semester and a comprehensive final at the end of the school year. You need a scientific calculator for chemistry. When taking a test or quiz, you will use the class set of calculators that the chemistry department owns. You will not be permitted to use your own calculators.

When you are absent from class YOU are responsible to find out what work was missed. YOU must get the missed worksheets and any materials. If you miss a test, quiz, or lab YOU must arrange for a time when it can be made up at the teachers convenience. You will be given an amount of time equal to the number of days absent to make up an assignment.

In reference to tests and quizzes, time will be given equal to the amount of days missed when new material is covered. The day before every test is a review day and no new material is covered. If it is the only day missed, the student will still take the test with the rest of the class.
