3. Social Order through the reign of Our Lord in His Church, looking at the book of Ephesians.

(urging all to
apply the social teachings of the Church in what ways they can)

Luk 1:32 He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God shall give unto him the
throne of David his father: and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.

Luk 19:14 But his citizens hated him and they sent an embassage after him, saying: We will not have this man to reign
over us.

Luk 19:27 But as for those my enemies, who would not have me reign over them, bring them hither and kill them
before me.

Rom 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned through one; much more they who receive abundance of grace
and of the gift and of justice shall reign in life through one, Jesus Christ.

Rom 5:21 That as sin hath reigned to death: so also grace might reign by justice unto life everlasting, through
Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, so as to obey the lusts thereof.

1Co 4:8 You are now full: you are now become rich: you reign without us; and I would to God you did reign, that
we also might reign with you.

1Co 15:25 For he must reign, until he hath put all his enemies under his feet.

2Ti 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him. If we deny him, he will also deny us.

Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us, who believe according to the operation of the
might of his power,
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, raising him up from the dead and setting him on his right hand in the heavenly
places.
Eph 1:21 Above all principality and power and virtue and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this world,
but also in that which is to come.
Eph 1:22 And he hath subjected all things under his feet and hath made him head over all the church,
Eph 1:23 Which is his body and the fulness of him who is filled all in all.

1Co 15:25 For he must reign, until he hath put all his enemies under his feet. 2Ti 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with
him. If we deny him, he will also deny us.

Government

Civil authority is undermined by granting a non existing right of the propagation of the religious errors of
every cult. (#2106) Traditionally a civil power was duty bound to tolerate some established false religions
for the sake of the common good. This toleration of evil has now been transferred so that error claims a
right to the spread of its poison throughout society.

Every new cult or sect can quote this new Catechism (and Vatican ID to demand liberty to spread errors, all
"within due limits" of what they can get away with! There is no doubt that this teaching, condemned
vigorously by popes like Gregory XVI, Pius lX, St. Pius X, Pius XI and XII, will undermine all government
authority!

In the definition of the common good, there is no reference to God, Heaven, or Supernatural virtue, which
the common good of society must promote. (#1905ff) If man cannot live in the truth unmolested by
enemies of the Faith, society is not fulfilling its prime purpose and will be punished by Almighty God. This
1
leads to the last point in this brief study, how this false liberty and equality is based upon totally
naturalistic principles. If one looks at the index to this Catechism, no references to Freemasonry, Secret
Societies, humanism, modernism or naturalism, nor any reference to St Pius X will be found.

"THERE IS NO POWER BUT FROM GOD" Romans 13: 1

"The Empire of Christ the King includes not only Catholic nations...but also all those who are outside the
Catholic faith; so that truly the whole of mankind is subject to the Power of Jesus Christ." Pope Leo
XIII, Annum Sacrum, May 25, 1899

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"Nor can We predict happier times for religion and government from the plans of those who desire
vehemently to separate the Church from the state, and to break the mutual concord between temporal
authority and the priesthood. It is certain that that concord which always was favorable and beneficial for
the sacred and the civil order is feared by the shameless lovers of liberty." Pope Gregory
XVI, Mirari Vos, August 15, 1832

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"CONDEMNED PROPOSITION #55: 'The Church must be separated from the State, and the State from the
Church.'" Blessed Pope Pius IX, Syllabus of Errors, December 8, 1864

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"Human societies cannot, without becoming criminal, conduct themselves as if God did not exist, or refuse
to be concerned with religion as if it were a foreign thing to them or something that could not serve them
in any way...As for the (Catholic) Church, which has God Himself as It's Originator, to exclude it from the

2
active life of the nation, from the laws, from the education of the youth, is to commit a grave and
pernicious error." Pope Leo XIII, Immortale Dei, November 1, 1885

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"That the State must be separated from the Church is an absolutely false thesis, a very pernicious error.
Based indeed on this principle that the State must not recognize any religious cult, it is first of all very
injurious to God; for the Creator of man is also the Founder of human societies...We therefore owe Him not
only a private worship, but a public and social worship in order to honor Him.

Moreover, this thesis is the very clear negation of the Supernatural Order. It indeed limits the action of the
State to the sole pursuit of public prosperity during this life, which is only the proximate reason for public
societies; and is not concerned in any way, with their last reason for existence, which is the Eternal
Beatitude offered to man when this very short life will have come to an end...

Not only must the Civil Power not place an obstacle in front of this acquisition, but it must besides help us
in this (i.e., the State must directly assist all souls under it's temporal jurisdiction unto Eternal Life, via the
official promotion of Our Lord Jesus Christ's One True Church and the official suppression of all other False
Churches whose individual errors, publicly promulgated, would otherwise obscure and/or contradict God's
Eternal, Universal and Immutable Truth in the minds of it's respective and God-entrusted citizenry and
otherwise contribute heavily to the loss of literally countless souls- M.S.)...This thesis likewise upsets the
order very wisely established by God in the world...and thus the notion of truth will be clouded from this
and souls will be filled with a great anxiety (unable to clearly discern those truths necessary to the
successful attainment of Eternal Salvation - MS).

Finally, this thesis inflicts grave damage onto Civil Society itself; for it cannot proper or last a long time
when place is not given there to (the Catholic) Religion, which is for man a supreme rule and sovereign
mistress for the inviolate protection of his rights and duties.

Therefore, the Roman Pontiffs have not ceased, according to the circumstances and the times, refuting and
condemning the doctrine of separation of Church and State. Pope St. Pius X,
Vehementer Nos, February 11, 1906

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"At the Last Judgment, Christ will accuse those who have expelled Him from public life and also those who
have scornfully set Him aside or ignored Him and will have the most terrible vengeance from such
outrages." Pope Pius XI, Quas Primas, December 11, 1925

3
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"How many are incapable of understanding that the Redemption of Our Lord Jesus Christ must be brought
about with the help of Civil Society, and that the State, therefore must become...the Instrument of the
application of the work of the Redemption...all has been created for Our Lord Jesus Christ and therefore for
the accomplishment of the work of the Redemption: everything, including Civil Society, which, I have told
you, is itself a creature of the Good Lord!

Civil Society is not a pure creation of the will of men; it results above all from the social nature of man,
from the fact that God has created men so that they will live in society; it is written into nature by the
Creator.

Therefore, Civil Society itself, no less than individuals, must render homage to God, it's Author and it's End,
and serve the redeeming design of Jesus Christ." Archbishop Marcel
Lefebvre, They Have Uncrowned Him, pp.99-101

VATICAN CITY, SEPT. 10, 2008 (Zenit.org).- It is expected that Benedict XVI will address the topic of the
separation of Church and state this weekend during his trip to France, according to a Vatican spokesmen.

Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican press office, told reporters Tuesday that the Pope
would most likely address the topic in his first address upon arriving to the country Friday.

The Pope will travel Friday-Monday to Paris and Lourdes. His visit to the Marian shrine takes place in the
context of the 150th anniversary of apparitions of Our Lady to Bernadette Soubirous.

Father Lombardi explained that the Pontiff, who as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was appointed in 1992 as an
associate foreign member of France's Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, might refer to the vision of
"positive secularity" discussed by President Nicolas Sarkozy in an address last December at the Basilica of
St. John Lateran.

Sarkozy said in his address that "secularism should not be a denial of the past. It does not have the power
to sever France from its Christian roots. This has been tried. It shouldn't have been done."

4
Break with protocol

Father Lombardi reported that Sarkozy himself will greet the Holy Father at the airport, as President George
Bush had done when the Pontiff visited the United States in April.

According to protocol in France, the prime minister welcomes a head of state while the president awaits
him in his official residence, the Élysée Palace, for the welcoming ceremony.

The Vatican spokesman clarified that the welcome will be private, and no addresses will be delivered.

At the Élysée Palace, Benedict XVI and Sarkozy will meet privately, and afterward the official welcoming
ceremony will take place during which the Pope will deliver his first public address of the trip. Some 700
people, including high-ranking politicians and government authorities, will attend the ceremony.

Catholic teaching

Father Lombardi noted for context the letter Pope John Paul II wrote on Feb. 11, 2005, to the president of
the French episcopal conference on the occasion of the centenary of the law of separation between Church
and State.

The Vatican spokesman presented the text of the letter as a "very positive" summary the Catholic position
of secularism.

John Paul II wrote, "The principle of secularity to which your country is extremely attached, if it is well
understood, belongs also to the social doctrine of the Church."

Father Lombardi said the Pope noted the "need for a just separation of powers, that echoes Christ's
invitation to his disciples: 'Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are
God's.'"

John Paul II added, "For its part, the non-confessional character of the state, which is the non-involvement
of the civil power in the life of the Church and of the different religions, such as in the sphere of the
spiritual, allows all the components of society to work together in the service of all and of the national
community."

5
Benedict XVI also addressed the topic of secularism in April when visiting the United States. He called the
country an "example of healthy secularism."

Pius X

On Gregory the Great;

.. 13. But in those days the people, albeit rude, ignorant, and still destitute of all civilization, were eager for life, and this no one could
give except Christ, through the Church, who "came that they may have life and have it more abundantly" (John x. 10). And truly they
had life and had it abundantly, precisely because as no other life but the supernatural life of souls could come from the Church, this
includes in itself and gives additional vigor to all the energies of life, even in the natural order. "If the root be holy so are the
branches," said St. Paul to the Gentiles, "and thou being a wild olive art ingrafted in them, and art made partaker of the root and of the
fatness of the olive-tree (Rom. xi. 16, 17).

14. To-day, on the contrary, although the world enjoys a light so full of Christian civilization and in this respect cannot for a moment
be compared with the times of Gregory, yet it seems as though it were tired of that life, which has been and still is the chief and often
the sole fount of so many blessings -- and not merely past but present blessings. And not only does this useless branch cut itself off
from the trunk, as happened in other times when heresies and schisms arose, but it first lays the ax to the root of the tree, which is the
Church, and strives to dry up its vital sap that its ruin may be the surer and that it may never blossom again.

ENCYCLICAL OF POPE PIUS X ON CATHOLIC ACTION IN ITALY

JUNE 11, 1905

…Truly, all of us in the Church are called to form that unique Body, whose Head is Christ; "closely joined,"
as the Apostle Paul teaches, "and knit together through every joint of the system according to the
functioning in due measure of each single part."[1] In such a way the Body increases and gradually
perfects itself in the bond of charity. Now, if in this work of "building up the body of Christ"[2] it is Our
primary duty to teach, to point out the correct way to follow, to propose the means to be used, to
admonish and paternally exhort, it is also the duty of Our beloved children, dispersed throughout the
world, to heed Our words, to carry them out first of all in their own lives, and to aid in their effective
fulfillment in others, each one according to the grace of God received, according to his state in life and
duties, and according to the zeal which inflames his heart.

Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject to higher powers. For there is no power but from God: and those that are ordained of
God.
Rom 13:2 Therefore, he that resisteth the power resisteth the ordinance of God. And they that resist purchase to
themselves damnation.
Rom 13:3 For princes are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that
which is good: and thou shalt have praise from the same.
Rom 13:4 For he is God's minister to thee, for good. But if thou do that which is evil, fear: for he beareth not the sword in
vain. For he is God's minister: an avenger to execute wrath upon him that doth evil.
Rom 13:5 Wherefore be subject of necessity: not only for wrath, but also for conscience' sake.
Rom 13:6 For therefore also you pay tribute. For they are the ministers of God, serving unto this purpose.
Rom 13:7 Render therefore to all men their dues. Tribute, to whom tribute is due: custom, to whom custom: fear, to
whom fear: honour, to whom honour.
Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another. For he that loveth his neighbour hath fulfilled the law.

Mar 10:42 But Jesus calling them, saith to them: You know that they who seem to rule over the Gentiles lord it over them:
and their princes have power over them.
Mar 10:43 But it is not so among you: but whosoever will be greater shall be your minister.

6
Mar 10:44 And whosoever will be first among you shall be the servant of all.

Act 20:28 Take heed to yourselves and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the
Church of God which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Rom 12:6 And having different gifts, according to the grace that is given us, either prophecy, to be used according to the
rule of faith;

Rom 15:12 And again, Isaias saith: There shall be a root of Jesse; and he that shall rise up to rule the Gentiles, in him the
Gentiles shall hope.

2Co 10:13 But we will not glory beyond our measure: but according to the measure of the rule which God hath measured
to us, a measure to reach even unto you.

2Co 10:15 Not glorying beyond measure in other men's labours: but having hope of your increasing faith, to be magnified
in you according to our rule abundantly.

2Co 10:16 Yea, unto those places that are beyond you to preach the gospel: not to glory in another man's rule, in those
things that are made ready to our hand.

Gal 6:16 And whosoever shall follow this rule, peace on them and mercy: and upon the Israel of God.

Php 3:16 Nevertheless, whereunto we are come, that we be of the same mind, let us also continue in the same rule.

1Ti 3:5 But if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?

1Ti 3:12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife: who rule well their children and their own houses.

1Ti 5:17 Let the priests that rule well be esteemed worthy of double honour: especially they who labour in the word and
doctrine.

Luk 7:8 For I also am a man subject to authority, having under me soldiers: and I say to one, Go, and he goeth: and to
another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doth it.

Luk 9:1 Then calling together the twelve apostles, he gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases.

Luk 20:2 And spoke to him, saying: Tell us, by what authority dost thou these things? Or, who is he that hath given thee
this authority?

Luk 20:8 And Jesus said to them: Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.

1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to use authority over the man: but to be in silence.

Tit 2:15 These things speak and exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
