Abstract This experiment calibrated the pressure sensor and contioning circuit. Moreover, it investigated the linearity and hysteresis. Hyteresis is the history dependence of physical systems which is retardation of the effect when the forces acting upon a body are changed (as if from viscosity or internal friction); esp: a lagging in the values of resulting magnetization in a magnetic material (as iron) due to a changing magnetizing force. In this experiment, we leaned how to control and manage the equipment. The machine was so sensitive and saomtime gave the error value because it was not good condition. However, we continue did the experiment with our commitment.

Introduction An aut ati pressure control device is built in a hydraulic actuator driving circuit for driving a plurality of actuators of a construction machine (by a single hydraulic pump through respective pilot changeover valves) is provided for automatically shuttling the changeover valve of each actuator to reduce its demanded flow rate and uniformly control the operation speeds of all actuators. In the end, the device is arranged to drain an excessive flow rate of the hydraulic pump through a series connection of a flow rate control valve controlled by the highest load pressure of the actuators and a resistance passage including a shuttle and to control the pilot pressure of each pilot changeover valve in response to a pressure at he t junction of the series connection.

Fi ure 1: Automatic Pressure Control In this experiment, we had to control six valves which each had a funtion respectively. We set up with connecting the wire from PC C to the PC before we started our experiment. The connection wire was followed by its colour which were red and black. The connection was must correct and if not, it would occur both machines. After that, we calibrated the pressure sensor and conditioning circuit. This is our main objective. Moreover, we had investigated the linearity and hysteresis of the sensor and condiioner. We had drafted two t graf for each result to show the linearity and hysteresis.

Objective : 1. To celibrate the pressure sensor and conditioning circuit 2. To investigate the linearity and hysteresis of the sensor/ conditioner.

Apparatus/ Equipment : 1. 2. 3. 4. PCT1OSC Electrical Console + trim tool PCT14 Pressure Control Accessory: Pressure conditioning module Initial Setting: (Refer to equipment set-up diagram) Manual Control Valves: V1, V2, V3, V5 and V6 Close V4 Open

Procedures Calibration: The aim of this experiment was calibrate the pressure sensor/ conditioner to give the following characteristics. Maximum pressure Minimum pressure = 0 psi = 0V output from the conditioner = 8 psi = 1V output from the conditioner

1. The pressure conditioning module is plugged into one of the signal conditioners on PCT10SC. 2. The pressure sensor is connected to the input of the signal contioner and the voltmeter to the output from the signal conditioner. 3. The compressor air supply is connected to the inlet. 4. The pressure in the system would be atmospheric with V2 was closed. Trim tool supplied with PCT10SC is set to adjust the zero control on the conditioning module to give a reading of 1 V on the voltmeter. 5. The pressure in the system is set to the maximum required 8 psi on gauge P5 by adjusting valve V2. When the pressure was staedy, the span control on the contioning is adjusted to give reading of 1 V on the voltmeter. 6. The minimum and maximum setting is repeated until no further adjustments of the zero and span controls was required.

Linearity and hysterisis: With calibrated the sensor/ conditioner is had, it was interesting to determing the linearity of the output over the operating range from minimum to maximum flow. 1. The pressure is adjusted in the system in steps of 2psi from 0psi to 8psi indicated on gauge P5. 2. Voltage pressure and output corresponding recorded from signal conditionerat every step. 3. The reducing pressure in the system is repeated to investigate the hytheresis in the sensor. The graph of the pressure in the system versus the output voltage is plotted to determine the linearity and hysteresis.
