ESMT develops entrepreneurial leaders who think globally, act responsibly, and respect the individual. With a heritage rooted in European values and the potential of technology, ESMT develops and imparts new knowledge to foster sustainable economic growth.
Education, truth, and virtue, Wilhelm von Humboldt wrote in 1793, must be disseminated to such an extent that the concept of mankind takes on a great and dignified form in each individual. To achieve this, the individual had to absorb the great mass of material offered to him by the world around him and his inner existence . . .; he must then reshape that material with all the energies of his own activity and appropriate it to himself so as to create an interaction between his own personality and nature in a most general, active, and harmonious form. This quote demonstrates the holistic approach of ESMTs Executive Transition Program (ETP), which centers on the knowledge and capabilities that are the prerequisites for your transition to general manager. Throughout the program, we will relate and come back to the ideas of Wilhelm and his brother Alexander von Humboldt, two great thinkers whose essential knowledge and independent minds enabled them to make outstanding contributions to their fields. In this tradition, the ETP will help you take your career to the next level. You will learn from worldclass faculty and guest lecturers, men and women who have successfully made the very same transition you are about to make people who have ties
to leading universities and have worked inside the most successful global companies. Their insights and perspectives will enable you to think, act, and make decisions as a senior executive. In short: The ETP is an intensive, transformational experience that will help you make the critical leap from manager to leader. At the same time, you will benefit from the diverse set of professional and personal experience that your fellow participants bring with them. Your personal leadership journey begins with a rigorous education in the advanced study of general management. The knowledge, skills, and tools you acquire will assist you throughout your career and provide you with a solid basis for lifelong achievement. In the same spirit that guided the remarkable brothers Humboldt to reach their own potential more than two centuries ago, I invite you to discover yours today at ESMT. Join us. Sincerely,
The ETP is an intensive, transformational experience that will help you make the critical leap from manager to leader.

The ETP Outdoor Exercise teaches participants to efficiently and effectively collaborate in teams. Under the close guidance of experienced facilitators, participants spend a full day in an outdoor environment where they learn the value of individual capabilities, the diversity of groups, and applied teamwork. The ETP Challenge is a complex business simulation exercise, which runs during and between modules 1 and 2. Competing teams work together to simulate board-level decision making in stressful situations and to develop cross-functional management perspectives.
These were the most important events for me this year: Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Siemens Signalling Company SSCX in July. SSCX won the top+ award of the SMART growth category during the Siemens business conference in Berlin. Heike and Urs of ETP visited Xian. I received the ETP certificate.

1. Application/confirmation
In order to participate in a program, the contracting company or organization is asked to fill in the application form, indicating its full company name and address as well as the participants name. The form should be returned to ESMT signed by an authorized representative of the company or organization. After thorough evaluation, ESMT will notify the contracting company or organization of the acceptance by letter; this notification will then constitute a binding contract. By signing the application form, the contracting company or organization confirms the acceptance of these general terms and conditions and agrees to pay any tuition fees or cancellation fees resulting from this agreement. 31 but more than 14 days before the event will be charged at 50 percent of tuition fees; registrations cancelled 14 days before the event or fewer will be charged at 100 percent of tuition fees; 100 percent cancellation charges also apply in case of failure to attend the program without prior notice. ESMT may cancel events at short notice if the minimum attendance is not met or any other complications occur that are beyond ESMTs control (e.g., illness of the speaker/trainer, force majeure). In such cases, ESMT will seek to establish an alternative date. If ESMT cancels the event, fees that have already been paid will be reimbursed. Further legal claims, for example reimbursement of job absenteeism, travel costs, or hotel expenditures, will not be met. ESMT is under no obligation to offer the same program in the future. Because our educational processes build on extensive group work and in-class participation, admission to the program requires full attendance.
2. Cancellation policy
Where the participant is unable to attend, and where the contracting company or organization is not in a position to transfer his/her place to another person, the following cancellation charges apply: registrations cancelled 56 days or more before the event will not be charged; cancellations received fewer than 56 but more than 30 days before the event will be charged at 25percent of tuition fees; registrations cancelled fewer than
