1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Installation Instructions for SAP2000 Version 10.0.7 File Compatibility Updating older Version 10.xx from the ftp Significant Changes from Version 10.0.0 New Features in SAP2000 Version 10
2. File Compatibility
SAP2000 Version 10 can open model files (*.SDB) from older versions of SAP2000, as well as import older SAP2000 database files (*.S2K, *.$2K, *.XLS, and *.MDB.) Note that once you save or run these models in Version 10, they will not be usable by older versions of the program, so you may want to save them under a new name after opening or importing them in Version 10.
Changes from Version 10.0.4/1 to Version 10.0.5 (issued 03/30/2006) - A bug that caused Area Loads assigned to be distributed to Frames to crash the program has been fixed. - A bug that caused Area Loads assigned to be distributed to Frames to be corrupted when load cases were deleted has been fixed. Models with this type of loading should be checked. - Automatically generated Hinges in concrete members using default assignments have now been given the same strain hardening properties as in SAP2000 V9. They were coming out with essentially with no strain hardening in v10 causing models to show premature failures under pushover. - The general mesher for area objects has been enhanced to be more sensitive to the local distances between selected points and lines. - A bug was fixed that sometimes caused stresses in the shell elements to be incorrectly reported for nonlinear analysis cases. Shell forces and moments were not affected. Models where stress values in shells for nonlinear analysis cases have been used should be checked. - A bug was fixed in which the joint reactions and base reactions due to acceleration loads in linear analysis cases was in error by the amount of acceleration load coming from elements directly connected to the restraint. This error is usually small, but such models should be checked. This error was introduced in version 10.0.4. - A units bug in Section Designer that sometimes caused a generated Caltrans PMM hinge to be scaled incorrectly has been fixed. - Some incorrect Caltrans default rebar and concrete property values have been fixed in Section Designer. - The calculated Caltrans idealized yield curvature is now reported in Section Designer. - Other minor bugs and display issues that do not affect results have been fixed. Changes from Version 10.0.4 to Version 10.0.4/1 (issued 02/22/2006) - A file operation that caused the latest version of McAfee Virus scanner to give a false alarm has been reprogrammed. Changes from Version 10.0.3 to Version 10.0.4 (issued 02/10/2006) - A bug that caused post-tensioning loads to be sometimes incorrectly computed when the tendon was entirely in the Y-Z plane has been corrected. Affected models should be rerun. - Bridge Section cut force computations have been expedited. No affect on results. - Import/Export using CIS/2 has been updated. - Other minor enhancements and bug fixes. Changes from Version 10.0.2 to Version 10.0.3 (issued 01/31/2006) - A bug that caused Area Loads assigned to be distributed to Frames not to be distributed correctly has been fixed. Models using this newly added feature need to be rerun. - A bug that caused Auto Wind Loads specified on Area and Frame objects at the same time not to be applied has been fixed. - An installation problem that caused Pushover Tables not to be displayed for Network installations has been fixed. - Other minor enhancements and bug fixes.
Changes from Version 10.0.0 to Version 10.0.2 (issued 12/31/2005) - A bug that in some cases caused User specified Wind Loads to diaphragms to be reset to zero has been corrected. - A bug that in some cases caused partial rerun of analysis cases to give obviously wrong results has been corrected. This problem only happened when partial reruns were done, the advanced solver was used and stiffness solutions from previous analysis were available. Full reruns or runs using the standard solver were correct. - A bug that in some cases caused pushover curves to be incorrectly reported has been corrected. It was missing the base shear caused by loads applied to frames. Loads applied to joints and other types of elements were included. This was only a reporting problem affecting pushover curves. The analysis itself was correct. - Other minor enhancements and bug fixes that do not affect results.
o Multi-linear springs (e.g., P-y curves) that can be assigned per-unit-length on line objects and per-unit-area on area objects. o Models created in SAP2000 can be exported directly as House models for program SASSI. o SAP2000 can create animated deflected shapes (*.AVI files) for the time-history results from program SASSI.
