REFUND POLICY AND PROCEDURE International Students

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU READ AND AGREE TO THE REUND POLICY BEFORE YOU PAY YOUR DEPOSIT The University has in place policies and procedures that prevent students from abusing the deposit scheme and protect the rights of both the Students and the University. The following procedures have accordingly been discussed with a number of Visa Sections in different countries.

1.

A minimum deposit of 3,500 applies for entry to courses at the University of Bolton. If an applicant is unable to pay 3,500 in one payment the University is happy to receive part payments over a period of time until the minimum deposit is fully paid. Applicants paying via part payment who do not pay the full amount of 3,500 will not be issued visa paperwork or be able to enrol until the minimum requirement has been paid nor receive a refund of the part payment. A refund on the deposit is only made if a student has been refused a visa. The University requires proof of rejection. The student should forward copies to the University of official documentation received from the High Commission and details of their passport number. The University will verify with the High Commission and return monies if satisfied. All requests for a deposit to be sent to the Centre for International Relations using the form available on request from the Centre for International Relations. No refunds will be made to students who do gain a visa and travel to the UK and choose not to study at the University. International applicants based in the UK (who may not require a new visa) must ensure that the University of Bolton is their intended institution of study before paying the deposit. UK based applicants will not be eligible for a refund as visa refusal is the sole reason for refund. The University will not transfer monies to other universities/institutions if a student decides to enrol, on arrival in the UK, to a University/Institution other than the University of Bolton.

8.

Students who defer their entry and who do not travel to the UK will be allowed to transfer their full deposit payment at to the following year Students who gain a visa, travel and request a deferral to the next available intake, will forfeit the deposit unless satisfactory verifiable evidence is provided on the extenuating and unforeseen circumstances for the deferral. The University is obliged to report to the UKBA students who travel to the UK but do not enrol.
