POWER OF PRAISE & WORSHIP Teach your people the whys in everything we do, and they will always

do it, even without you telling them. One of the things that we want you to understand why we do is about PRAISE & WORSHIP. Why do we sing songs to God? Why is it at the beginning of the service, then at the end again? Why can we not do with it? In the cells, we have it. In the church, we have it. In conferences, we have it. In Leaders meetings, we have it. In trainings, we have it. We want you to understand how we see and how we value praise & worship. There are 300 verses where the word praise is. Mostly pertaining to praising God through singing and declaration.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; - It is our identity.
It is our responsibility. It is our destiny. Declaring the praises of our God is part of who we are. Praising God is our purpose. Praise is our destiny!

Isaiah 43:21 This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise. Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. - We enter the presence of God, through our praise.
Praise and worship changes the atmosphere, and brings us to the very presence of God. You may be in the midst of troubles and chaos, but the moment you start praising God, you get out of the realm of chaos and confusion and you enter into the realm of Gods presence where there is joy and peace.

Psalm 145:2 Every day I will bless You,And I will praise Your name forever and ever. - how often? EVERYDAY - how long? FOREVER
Psalm 119:164 Seven times a day I praise You,Because of Your righteous judgments. - how many times each day? SEVEN TIMES. - Our praise should be more frequent than our meals. - Our praise should be more frequent than our complaints! STORY OF THE POWER OF PRAISE: 1. Praise leads us into victory over our enemies. It sends confusion in the enemys camp. 2 Chronicles 20 Jehoshaphat Defeats Moab and Ammon 1 After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites[b] came to wage war against Jehoshaphat. BACKGROUND:

*After Jeshoshaphat has organized his leadership structure, there came war. *God is so wise. He allowed the war to come, after Jehoshaphat has delegated leaders and authorities among Gods people. After Jehoshaphat has taught them about fearing God, being faithful to God and keeping the favor of God by doing well. a. God will not allow you to face war if your leadership structure is not yet organized. b. God will not allow us to face war if our leaders do not have the right core values and DNA, i.e. fear of God, faithfulness, fairness and doing well. c. Good leadership structure and delegation prepares you for war. 2 Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, A vast army is coming against you from Edom,[c] from the other side of the Dead Sea. It is already in Hazezon Tamar (that is, En Gedi). 3 Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the LORD, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. 4 The people of Judah came together to seek help from the LORD; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him. *Jehoshaphat was ALARMED, not afraid, not threatened. ALARMED = worried, troubled, shocked. *Jehoshaphats instinct was to inquire of the Lord. *Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast for all his constituents. *Jehoshaphat and his people came to seek help from God. 5 Then Jehoshaphat stood up in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the temple of the LORD in the front of the new courtyard 6 and said: LORD, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. 7 Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? 8 They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for your Name, saying, 9 If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence before this temple that bears your Name and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us. 10 But now here are men from Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, whose territory you would not allow Israel to invade when they came from Egypt; so they turned away from them and did not destroy them. 11 See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession you gave us as an inheritance. 12 Our God,

For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you. *Hindi alam ni Jehoshaphat ang gagawin nya, pero nakatutok ang mata nya kay Lord. *Kadalasan, hindi mo na nga alam ang gagawin mo, kung saan-saan ka pa nakatingin.
will you not judge them? 13 All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the LORD. 14 Then the Spirit of the LORD came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly. GREAT PROMISE OF GOD: 15 He said: Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army.

For the battle is

not yours, but Gods. 16 Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the

LORD will be with you.

Gods mandate: 1. Take up your positions. 2. Stand firm. 3. See. *Hindi sinabing, take up your positions, stand firm, be ready to die, and then fight. *God told them to take their positions and stand firm, ONLY TO WATCH their deliverance from their enemy. *In our battles in life and in the ministry, it is an opportunity to SEE GOD at work, in our favor. 18 Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the LORD. 19 Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the LORD, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. 20 Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful. 21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his[d] holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever. POWER OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP:

As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. 23 The Ammonites and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another.
22 *Sometimes, we are so caught up with the battles that we are facing. Yet, all that we need to do is praise God and worship Him. And He will cause our enemies to be defeated!

*If we face God, God will face our enemies.

*If we do not do what were supposed to do, we force ourselves to do Gods job of facing our enemies. *When Jehoshapat and his people started singing praises to God, nagkagulo sa kampo ng mga kaaway nila. *When we focus on God and praise Him and worship Him with all our heart and mind and strength, God sends confusion in the enemys camp. *By the time, we end our praise and worship, all our enemies are gone and destroyed. 24 When the men of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army,

they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped.
*When they looked at the vast army, they saw dead bodies. PICTURE: there was a vast army about to attack them, then they started singing praises to God, then the vast army of their enemy is gone and completely destroyed. That is how powerful our praise and worship is. 25 So Jehoshaphat and his men went to carry off their plunder, and they found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing[e] and also articles of valuemore than they could take away. There was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it. 26 On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Berakah, where they praised the LORD. This is why it is called the Valley of Berakah[f] to this day. *Hindi na nga lumaban. Hindi na nga napagod. Ang dami pang plunder!

*This is Gods picture of battle: You did not fight, yet you have a great plunder of war, more than what you can take away, something that will require 3 days for you to collect. 27 Then, led by Jehoshaphat, all the men of Judah and Jerusalem returned joyfully to Jerusalem, for the LORD had given them cause to rejoice over their enemies. 28 They entered Jerusalem and went to the temple of the LORD with harps and lyres and trumpets. 29 The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel. 30 And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side. The End of Jehoshaphats Reign 31 So Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he became king of Judah, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-five years. His mothers name was Azubah daughter of Shilhi. 32 He followed the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD. 33 The high places, however, were not removed, and the people still had not set their hearts on the God of their ancestors. 34 The other events of Jehoshaphats reign, from beginning to end, are written in the annals of Jehu son of Hanani, which are recorded in the book of the kings of Israel. WARNING: Do not make alliances with the WICKED. Be careful with your covenant and friendships. As a leader, your covenants and alliances spell your victory or defeat. Alliances affect your destiny! 35 Later, Jehoshaphat king of Judah made an alliance with Ahaziah king of Israel, whose ways were wicked. 36 He agreed with him to construct a fleet of trading ships.[g] After these were built at Ezion Geber, 37 Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because you have made an alliance with Ahaziah, the LORD will destroy what you have made. The ships were wrecked and were not able to set sail to trade.[h]

2. Praise & Worship sets you FREE!

Acts 16 22 The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. 23 After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. 24 When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. 25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyones chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, Dont harm yourself! We are all here! 29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 They replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be savedyou and your household. 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. 34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in Godhe and

his whole household. Psalm 145
