CAFE: user-oriented software for ship design

CAFE is innovative, user-oriented software for ship design that allows easy modelling of hull structure, calculation of masses and positions of centres of gravity. Enhanced FEM modelling is provided through utilization of automatic meshing. CAFE is also an affordable tool with flexible purchase conditions, offering high value for money to its user.
CAFE is developed jointly by BVB, an engineering software company, and as2con - alveus, a research, development and applications company, with the mission to provide useroriented software customized for modern shipbuilding.

Ship design features: CAFEs interactive modelling significantly reduces design time; a complete tanker structure can be modelled in less than 16 working hours Flexible definition of decks and major bulkheads Automated generation of 2D drawings for Class approval Walk-trough capability Import of existing geometry All major equipment can be modelled The models can be input to FEM solver tools for structural calculations, including hull girder bending, fatigue analysis, etc.

FEM model export to NASTRAN and LS-DYNA (other solvers are possible through customization) and opposite Post - processing of results generated by NASTRAN

You can download CAFE software for free until the 30th of September 2010 from www.bvbcafe.com.

Automatic mesh generator and remeshing

Modelling features: Guides have been developed to become the new improved version of the grid lines, defined by the user for control, add and split all entities in the virtual 3D space.

Workshop on CAFE in Split (Croatia) September 2010. - workshop will be held in Split in Croatian Register of Shipping. Please contact us if you would wish to participate and we will keep you posted on the actual day of the workshop.

Import of existing geometry

FEM features: Unlimited number of different models and sub models Interactive modelling using selfadaptive elements, working smoothly with more than 1 million elements Enables the use of different levels of structural meshes simultaneously: one panel one element on global level one or more elements between stiffeners, stiffeners as beams one or more elements for stiffener web, stiffener flange as rods detailed fatigue mesh using cell elements Fully automatic conversion from a model to any lower level mesh
