com Dear Sir/Madam

I have a very strong background in working with people. I am also very adaptable and I believe I can fit in to many jobs. With my experience working at both UNISAs Bureau for Career, Counselling and Academic Development as an assistant student counsellor and at the Society for Family Health, on a reproductive health program, as a field coordinator, I have a diverse background with so much to offer. On top of that, I am a counselling Psychology student, my degree is pending, hopefully 2011. My first job was on voluntary basis at UNISA as a peer counsellor. I worked in that position for a year then got promoted and given a contract into being an assistant student counsellor. There I helped students with different academic and career options/ problems and help them to make an informed decision. I also held different workshop to help equip them with skills to overcome challenges that might arise during their studies. Time management, study skills, stress management, exam preparations were but amongst some of the topics covered in those workshops. On that job, I received training on counselling. Being a field coordinator at Society for Family Health afforded an opportunity for growth. I had more responsibilities, a team to lead and also having to manage finances for our monthly allowance. I implemented a reproductive health program in schools, clinics and in the communities at large. Emphasis was placed more on the prevention of unplanned pregnancy and the dangers of going for an unsafe abortion services. We educated young girls and women on how contraceptives work, abstainance and condom usage. From this, I have develop, leadership skills, peoples skills, networking and creating partnerships, working with people (which I enjoy very much), managing finances among other things. Another highlight in that job has been, successfully implementing this program in seven different locations in Free State and leading a team of nineteen peer counsellors. The director of the programme selected me to be the one implementing the programme in Free State and I did that with excellence. I have also gained much driving and map reading experience, and I am very familiar with many places as each week in 2010 I had to travel to Free State for 2-3 days. Around Gauteng, I worked in Johannesburg, Mamelodi, Soshanguve, Mabopane, Pretoria, Diepsloot, Ivory Park, Orange Farm, Honeydew, Daveyton, Thokoza and Carletonville. I am a highly motivated person, not fazed by challenges. I think out of the box and I look at a challenge as a motivation. I am not only a hard worker but a smart one too. I am energetic and very creative, very resilient and with an innate ability to solve problems rationally, within a given time. One of my strongest point is my ability to communicate in more than 7 South African languages, in addition to Xitsonga being my mother tongue. I humbly request you to consider me for this position as I have so much to offer. Thank you for your consideration. Respectfully yours Bongani Austin Ngobeni
