This is a set of nomenclature cards designed to be printed on 3X5 index cards.

It details the 3 Domain and linked 6 Kingdom system that is taught in American schools. To use print on Index cards(less cutting) or 4 pages to letter sized card stock paper. Print 3 copies for the book, the control cards, and the matching cards. As an exercise to expand this set you can have the child(ren) create their own books using the Create Your Own Book Templates I have on here as well.

Three Domain System

System of biological classification that was created by Woese in 1990 which separates living things into 3 domains, Bacteria, Archaea, and Eukaryote.

Archaea

Both a Domain and a Kingdom, these are any of various single-celled prokaryotes genetically distinct from bacteria, often thriving in extreme environmental conditions.

Bacteria

A very large group of microorganisms comprising one of the three domains of living organisms. They are prokaryotic, unicellular, and either free-living in soil or water or parasites of plants or animals

Eukaryota

A domain comprised of organisms whose cells contain complex structures enclosed within membranes.

Protista

Of the domain Eukaryota, this is the Kingdom of protist. Protist are single-celled free-living or colonial organisms with diverse nutritional and reproductive modes.

Plantae

Of the domain Eukaryota, this is the Kingdom of plants. Plants are living organisms that lack the ability to move.

Anamilia

Of the domain Eukaryota, this is the Kingdom of animals. Animals are living organisms that have the ability to move.

Fungi

Of the kingdom Eukaryota this is the kingdom of fungi. Fungi include both micro-organisms (s.a. yeast) and larger organisms (s.a. mushrooms) which contain chitin in their cell walls.
