SMART VENT
A build-up of moisture generated from every day activities can cause permanent damage to the very fabric of your home.
Control of these issues are dependent on three factors: ventilation, insulation and heating.
Modern houses are well insulated and properly heated, with bathrooms and kitchens generally well ventilated. However, a high level of insulation and draught proofing in a modern home means that there is often insufficient air replacement for effective ventilation.
Smart Solutions
So what can you do to improve your in-door air environment? There are two proven ways to improve your in-door living environment:
vs
REMOVES condensation, airborne contaminants and other toxins from the home.
Completely Balanced System Extract and supply balanced airflow creates a complete ventilation system. Actually removes airborne contaminants and moisture out of the home. Heat Recovery The Heat Exchanger can recover up to 90% of otherwise wasted heat from everyday household activities and paid heating, which is used to warm the incoming fresh, dry filtered air. Energy Efficiency Saves you money in heating or cooling your home while offering continual ventilation. Pay back for installing a Synergy system over a positive pressure system can be as low as 3 years. Full Colour Touch Screen Controller State-of-the-art colour touch screen controller, designed and manufactured in New Zealand. Easy to use menu, offers up-to-date readings of your home environment and a full range of settings to customise your system. Summer Airflow, Heat Transfer and Summer By-Pass features are built into the system for the ultimate ventilation system.
Energy Efficiency
Reduces asthma and allergy symptoms by removing allergens from the air and reducing damp conditions in which they thrive. Energy Efficient, recovers up to 90% of otherwise wasted heat produced from everyday household activities and paid heating to warm the incoming air. Saves money on your heating/cooling costs whilst offering 24 hour/ 7 day a week ventilation. State-of-the-art technology to customise your system to your living environment. Offers up-to-date readings on:

Heat Exchanger
True Heat Recovery There is a misconception in the market that a positive pressure system heats the home. With a positive pressure system this free heat is generated when the air drawn from the roof space is warmer than the air temperature inside your home, (called roof space energy recovery), allowing you to benefit from this incoming warmer air. But circumstances do not always allow the roof to warm up such as on a cloudy winters day. Synergy Heat Recovery is specially designed to recover heat produced from everyday household activities and paid heating, utilising up to 90% of the heated (or cooled air) to warm (or cool in summer) the incoming air. This means the incoming air will require minimal heating to meet your indoor comfort temperature.
Energy Efficiency
Energy Efficiency The Heat Exchanger is the most energy efficient way to help heat your home whilst offering continual ventilation. Synergy benefits from both roof space energy recovery (as discussed above) and true heat recovery. The exchanger recovers energy extracted from the home which in turn heats the in-coming air thereby reducing your heating or cooling costs. So, even on a cold winters day when your roof space is cooler than inside, Synergy will still introduce warm, dry, filtered air into your home. Synergy uses fans which are low wattage DC motors which further adds to your energy savings. Carbon Footprint A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact that we have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gas (CO2) produced in kilograms (Kg). The footprint is what is left behind as a result of these activities. Energy recovery reduces carbon footprint because less electricity, gas or solid fuels are needed to heat the home to the same temperature. The system calculates the Kg of CO2 based on your entered electricity costs and how much heat your have recovered from the exchange process.
Health Benefits
The Synergy heat recovery system actually removes condensation, airborne contaminants and other toxins from the home. By expelling the contaminated air out of the home, it doesnt get a chance to seep into your furnishings and walls. This creates a much healthier environment for you and your family while saving you money at the same time.

State-of-the-art Technology
Summer Ventilation
Summer By-Pass Feature The Summer By-pass feature operates a damper which allows the warm exhaust air from your home to by-pass the Heat Exchanger and therefore not warm the incoming cooler air from outside. This function can be disabled for an air conditioning system where cool exhaust air is recovered, which in-turn cools the incoming warmer air from outside.

Optional Extras
The following optional extras can be added to your Synergy System. The smart touch screen controller is already integrated with settings to control these features which become visible once installed.
Remote Sensor
The remote humidity sensor allows you to control your relative humidity and temperature readings from a room other than where your touch-screen controller is situated. This is ideal for areas where moisture/dampness is especially high, such as a bathroom or laundry. Once installed the integrated settings become available on your controller. This allows the humidity and temperature readings to be read from your chosen controller, whether it be the touch screen controller, remote sensor or an average of both. The system will exhaust the moist air at the boost fan speed (speed 9) when the relative humidity level is exceeded. This remote sensor acts to keep the relative humidity in the living environment within your chosen acceptable humidity level while taking advantage of otherwise wasted energy. This humidity function can be disabled.
Tempering Heater
A 1kW heater can be installed to temper the incoming air. Three heater functions are integrated into the controller and once the heater is installed, these options will be displayed on your controller.
Digital Control
Whisper Quiet
Positive Pressure systems draw fresh drier air from the roof space and passes it through a filter before gently distributing it around the home via diffusers set in the ceiling at strategic points. The introduced air positively pressurises the home and displaces moist air generated by human activities such as washing and cooking. The end result is a drier living environment, less prone to condensation and virtually free of airborne contaminants. The system incorporates a supply airflow under pressure, therefore getting its name positive pressure. Smart-Vent systems work off a comfort temperature range (a minimum and maximum temperature that you would like your home to be), set by yourself on your digital controller. The temperature is read from your roof space where the supply air is drawn from. As soon as this temperature falls below or rises above your comfort temperature range (e.g. minimum of 16oC and maximum of 22oC) then the system will automatically react to restore your desired comfort temperature range. This could be turning on your heater (optional extra), dropping to a low fan speed when too cold, or drawing air from outside (when a summer feature is installed) in the warmer summer months.

Filter Grading
The filter is a main component of a ventilation system which contributes towards a better indoor environment. Everyday on average we breathe 20-30kg of air which is why it is essential to filter atmospheric particles that can adversely affect our health. This air can contain household dust, moulds, fungi, pollen and vapour residue. G4 grade sock filter: Over its life the filter will, as an average, have a 90% arrestance of particles of 5 microns in size and above. High quality F7 grade induct filters: Over its life the filter will, as an average, have an 80-90% arrestance on particles 0.4 microns in size and above.

The Pro-Series Extension Kit allows you to add additional outlet/s to any of the Smart-Vent systems. Please note that by adding additional outlets to your system you are simply dividing the available air amongst more rooms.

Please Note: By adding additional outlets to your system you are simply dividing the available air amongst more rooms. Extra duct may be required depending on the layout of your home. This flowchart assumes that there is sufficient ceiling space to install all componentary. For homes larger than 560m2 please contact Securimax for technical advice. For two storey homes we recommend running the duct down inside a cupboard to the lower level diffuser/s. The Smart-Vent System is not intended to be and is no substitute for an effective heating system in the home.

Optional Extra All Smart-Vent systems carry a 5 year warranty, provided all recommended maintenance is performed. Filter replacement is not included in this warranty. A 3 Year payback is based on the cost differential of purchasing a Synergy system over a positive pressure system for a 280m2 home. This will differ depending on varying environmental factors.
