rahul Rating: said this on 03 Oct 2007 11:51:42 AM IST I think, its wrong to say that India is behind

the China in the race of software development. Indians have much more ability to make the softwares. In the countries like America, the number of Indian software engineers are more than any other countries. (Reply to this comment)

shub Rating: said this on 19 Sep 2009 2:08:26 AM IST Although software industry in China is still at the primitive stage, with ITS huge personnel resource, the demands from its fast growing economy, and governments promotional policies, China will inevitably become the main provider of software outsourcing services as well as the main software consuming market in the world. The four issues regarding Chinas software industry development need to be considered First, reviewing Chinas software industry development process in the past 10 years second, analyzing the software industry structure in China from three aspects: the market structure, the product structure, and the distribution of units according to their size; third, discussing the potential of Chinas domestic software market and software outsourcing services; fourth, proposing the strategies for Chinas software industry development. divya bharathi Rating: said this on 18 May 2011 6:39:40 PM IST In my view China a better deal than India for modern retailers (Reuters) Multinational retailers, still largely barred from India's fast-growing but chaotic industry, are pinning their hopes for now on China, where the investment climate is ripe for growth. Both countries offer enormous promise to the world's biggest retailers, but the likes of Wal-Mart Stores (WMT.N), Metro (MEOG.DE) and Carrefour (CARR.PA) reckon China will deliver the goods in the short term as they wait for India to open up its retail industry and embrace the western way of shopping. Global leader Wal-Mart has opened 80 stores in China to grab a slice of the $892 billion retail market there. But in India, where modern retail, with its hypermarkets and one-stop shopping, has only a small share of a splintered $350 billion industry, U.S.-based Wal-Mart has sparked political concerns and protests by traders and shopkeepers even before opening its first cash-and-carry store. In the biggest demonstration yet against modern retail, more than 20,000 farmers and shopkeepers gathered in Mumbai earlier this month, chanting "It's now or never, Wal-Mart quit India". "The $10 you put in China is going to give you a better return in the short term than the $10 you put in India," said Wai-Chan Chan, leader of consultancy McKinsey's Greater China Consumer Practice. "Whatever happens in India, there are significant barriers to expansion. Mom-and-pop stores and people complaining about large retailers is one of them," he said. Nonetheless, India's promise is tantalizing. Its retail industry is forecast to nearly double by 2015, and it already tops AT Kearney's Global Retail Development Index as the most attractive market to be in. But while China opened the door to foreign investment in retail 15 years ago, protectionist India has dithered, and still limits foreign multiple-brand retailers such as Wal-Mart to wholesale or license and franchise operations. "Something can look very attractive and still be very...

mansingh Rating: said this on 26 Dec 2009 9:42:53 AM IST yes china is better than india in making software , we can easily see the latest technology being developed by china & with low cost . The most common example of it is the "chinese mobile" which has sales unexpectedly in indian market neglecting its worst quality . There are other software too which has good sale value & with low cost . So effectively chinese market are better than us in making software . (Reply to this comment)

khadeer Rating: said this on 08 Nov 2010 11:59:24 AM IST yes mansingh is right. chinese mobiles have sales in INDIA. but they dont have any value when compare to the indian made mobiles (Reply to this comment)

Because we have the strongest programmers for missile chips and not to mention in bank softwares .. India is doing excellent in bank softwares. so its not the right ime to conclude that india is not better ok.. (Reply to this comment)

Hoffman Rating: said this on 23 Feb 2010 1:21:09 PM IST Although we had got good programmers, we cannot be able to market our products at the price china is giving, and their government is very focused about development, while in India it is all about vote bank politics and no time to think about people. just focussing on politics or other things...it has to be balanced to make our country developed and compititive (Reply to this comment)

well-wisher Rating: said this on 12 Sep 2010 8:34:56 PM IST As India and china both are developing countries foreign companies prefer to open up a branch in either of these. coming to India, has more population ,more technical minds ,more opportunities more companies generally foreigners prefer India as people work better for a less wage. on contrary china has a very good edge over the above mentioned factors and they are also have proved software engineers.an example is china goods (mobile) less cost .of course its durability is not that as original. in other countries also they prefer china goods to Indian ones. Astha Gupta Rating: said this on 20 Jul 2011 10:30:51 PM IST no i dnt agree with the statement that china is better than india in software.....To create a successfull software everything has to be seen ie. quality, quantity, durability, maintenance etc...China has a technique but they dont use it in efficient manner.the chinese produts only give 6 months warranty but the indian products give more tha that...Chinese products cost low but they dnt give the quality..india have their own standard and hence indians cant b compared with chinese.
