Project Hercules 30-Day Exercise Challenge

September 1-30, 2011

Dear, Friend: On September 1, 2011, I will participate in the Project Hercules 30-day Exercise Challenge to raise money and awareness for ovarian cancer research. Each year in the United States, more than 21,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and about 15,000 women die of the disease. By making a pledge on my behalf, you are supporting important research that will one day help eradicate this silent disease. My goal is to raise $____ this month. I will exercise at least 20 minutes for at least____days in the month of September and I ask that you sponsor me by pledging a certain amount for each day I complete my goal. Your donation is not only tax deductible, but 100% of those dollars will support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, the largest independent organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to funding ovarian cancer research and to finding a cure. Making a pledge has never been easier! You can: Mail your pledge directly to me at: ____________________________________ Send your pledge through firstgiving.com, making sure you have put my name in the memo: See the link to firstgiving HERE Thank you,

About Project Hercules: Project Hercules is a 12-month fundraising event designed to raise money and awareness for ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is difficult to detect, as the symptoms of ovarian cancer are often vague and subtle, similar to those in other non cancer conditions affecting women. There is no effective screening test for ovarian cancer but tests exist that can identify women who are at higher risk for the disease. Now, my dear friend and warrior, Maya Salomon, is currently fighting this battle. Through Project Hercules, I aim to show just one ounce of her courage by tackling 12 projects (exercise challenge, stair climbing challenge, running a half marathon), one each month, ending in June on Maya's 40th birthday. Ranging from modest to mountainous, I welcome you to join as many activities as you want. Let's challenge ourselves and, in turn, raise money and awareness to put an end to this terrible disease. All proceeds benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
