Minnesota singer-songwriter Lonnie Knight has long been known as a stellar guitar player. He has won several Minnesota Music Awards for best guitarist and his playing has been likened to Richard Thompson, Patty Larkin, and Brooks Williams. His great songwriting has come to the forefront with his recent releases, and his new CD So We Jump (2010) is inspiring a whole new generation of fans. Native New Yorker Rhonda Laurie is regularly praised for her smooth vocals and her savvy interpretations of jazz classics and less familiar repertoire. She works with the Twin Cities finest musicians and has performed at the Dakota Jazz Club, the Artists Quarter, and the Hot Summer Jazz Festival in Minneapolis. Whether swinging a la gypsy, straight-ahead jazz, or cabaret, her approach is modern and fresh, obscuring musical boundaries. BEN GLAROS Ben Glaros is a revered veteran of the Twin Cities music scene, having contributed his distinctive guitar playing to a stunning variety of musical projects since the mid 1980s. After playing with various bands, Ben is now breaking out as a solo artist. He has combined the inspiration of his songwriting heroes like Neil Young and Paul Westerberg with his formidable array of talents to create two critically acclaimed CDs, 2005s Solo and Lovesong Roulette in 2007. DANDELION WINE Dandelion Wine is a Twin-Cities band whose members come from two different families. Guitarist Paul and vocalist Michelle Porter write and sing a blend of folk/rock/blues music, some with a touch of jazz. Their teenage son Jonathan plays bass. Brothers David and Steven DeGennaro hail from Long Island, NY. Drummer Dave has played with Bayou Hazard, Red Dot Garage, the Block Heaters, and has received awards for his childrens CD Monkey Mind Pirates. Steves soaring electric guitar is not to be missed, and he has played with the Block Heaters, Brothers D, and Piecemeal.
