DATA ANALYSIS ECONOMIC REASON

Many people lives in Sagada earn monthly through farming. However, they also get extra income in tour guiding. There were also some industry in Sagada that provide jobs and employment in its locality. When tourism industry starts to boom and also the mining industry produce alternative source of income to its people. Price of commodities in there, varies also depending on its season, most likely if the oil in the world narket increases, prices is likely to be altered since most of the commodities are being transpo.rted People in Sagada are said to be industrious, but to its generation, some of them did not want to stay and become farmers forever and they go to other places to seek job and earn money. It is also said that payment for taxes in municipality of Sagada is much cheaper than in Manila thats why, the total tax revenue for local government is said to be below the regional average. Therefore , the reasercher conclude tat the local government and other agencies must forced their long term project for the sustainability of the employment in its locality. Buildings and infrastructure can be allowed but it must be according to local government ordinanace. The help of the Department of Agriulture is also needed to provide the local farmers an easy access to markets and buyers for their products for them to gain profit and lessen their expenses.

Sagada has its own identity because of its unique spots like the Sumaguing Cave and their Hanging coffins that makes them a hot spot for tourism consumption and let the tourist visit the area over and over again. Somehow people of old age used to preserve its culture and heritage through antique shows which display native items and collectibles used by most Igorots. They still recall their ancestors that love the nature and preserve their tombs, traditions and culture and transfer it from generations to generations. But there are instances that the puriy of communitys sense of heritage is lost because of the modernization adaptd by the place, and one of its example is the way how the new generation dress themselves. It is sad to say that many culture around the world dies in every single day because of civilization and modernization. Thus, through this research the national government and local government must work for the preservation of cultural and geritage in the Municipality of Sagada, giving an education about the importance of its native culture to its people are also a grate help for them. Modernization and Civilization are said to be uncontolllable aspects of the society, we, the researcher still hope to those local people of Sagada that still cared and sacrifice for the preservation of their culture will find its way to stand still and survive for next generation.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Sagada, physically, it conveys a pleasant appearance thus making every visitor love the place and goes to it over and over again. It has natural attraction that makes the place more interesting. Cold weather also attracts many visitors to visit the place. Low level of clouds and fogs in the morning and in the afternoon also gives an additional excitement to many tourist during their stay. The local community and many tourists shared and satisfied with its existing leisure activities that lead them to relax, enjoy and unwind for a while away from stressful and busy life in urban places. However, the physical condition of many tourists spot in Sagada are merely near to be destroy because of many tourist and that always visit the place. In their situation. It is advice for the local government o develop more tourist place to offer and divide the population of tourist trhat situated and visit in one common place. It is included that the local and major roads of different destination need of rehabilitation for the safety and accessibility of many tourists.

Data Analysis
Based on Accessibility of Public Services Accessibility of one place to another is a great help and advantage to improve the way of their living and other industry that depends on the access and ease of transportation. In Sagada, for example, local highways and country roads need an immediate reconstruction and rehabilitation. Public bus service is available but has a limited destination point due to critical conditions of upland roads. It is said to be that land and air transportation are among of the easy way mode of transportation. However, having a railway transit system and commercial airport is open to be developed but it takes so many years and lots of budget from national government and investors to make this proposal possible. With the help of LGU and other government agencies like the MMDA and DPWH they can help the municipality of Sagada to improve their rodes and transportation system that will provide them a good results and turnover of tourist that visits the place in whole year round. 11

Data Analysis
Based on he daa collected, it shows that Sagada was already reach by the service of electric power. However there are only few houses can be accommodated. Other services like from lowland to upland. Water is abundant in the whole vicinity of Sagada and to its Municipality because most of its water supply comes from rivers and mountains. Telephone services is also available but only few of residents these avail the service. Even it is located in upload areas, they have also a fire protection service and even most of their local people are kind and disciple. Police protection and policemen are visible in most of crowded areas in Sagada to protect many tourist from bad elements of the society. 12

Farms and ranches also exist in the place of Sagada and it also add an attraction to many tourist that visit the place but ore development is required but maintaining its natural beauty is needed. Zoos and wildlife sanctuaries does not exist bu can possibly be develop but for selected animals only that can live in a cold place like Sagada.

CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL ATTRACTIONS


For its cultural and historical attractions the status shows that there are lots of antique and craft shops. Burial grounds is also available and lead them to be wildly known for its unique burial ceremony and most of their famous people and descendants are buried in this burial grounds. RECREATIONAL ATTRACTIONS
The table shows that there are only few and limited recreational attractions and activities can be made in Sagada. And in the list are amusement or theme parks, camping in parks and forced, fishing in its lakes and rivers. Health and beauty spaso exizt and offer their services to tourist for them to relax after a tiring day of activities. Hiking activities can be also observed andthere are lots of mountains come in the place. Hunting is also observed but it is according to the season and guided with the permit from local government and DENR.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE PROJECT It was been two years after we had got in the beautiful place of Baguio City as a part of our curriculum and a subject in tourism. And now as a third year college student, we encounter again a subject matter related to tourism industry. However, it is more widen and need deep understanding on how a certain destination is planned according to its structure, accessibility, its effects to cost of living for residents around the area and how to market and attracts tourist for its profit.

The group discusses and suggests some tourist spot and destination nearby Manila area that can be affordable, accessible, comfortable and yet enjoyable for the whole that can give us time to relax while we are doing this project. After discussion and suggestion, it was been decided and voted by majority that Sagada in Mountain Province would be the destination for this research. All papers and everything was been settled including the date of departure going to Sagada, Mountain Province. Happiness and excitement awaits the group until the said date comes.

The entire group aims in this project to observed the present condition of many tourist spots in Sagada. How it is preserved for a long time by its local residents together with the local government .This research will also serves as the eye opener and the basis of the government and other agencies for those places that can be develop and those in needs an immediate restoration, development and maintenance specially for its physical condition and preservation.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION The study was conducted in Sagada, Mountain province. The findings stated that tourist spot in terms of physical condition, many of the researchers agree that they are maintain and well preserved. The maintenance is also now consistently maintained. As of facilities, some people are satisfied with the existing facilities but they look forward more development. In terms of the cleanliness, the area is clean and its local government is doing their best to maintain the cleanliness of the area. As of accessibility, from Manila to Sagada is accessible. However, the midpoint as the bus reach in Banaue, they need to transfer all passenger tourist to a jeepney as a another mode of transportation it is because buses are not advisable to go upland and for the safety of many tourist .It was observed that public vehicle in the area is available bit in limited numbers only. Inns is the widely use and offer as type of accommodation in the place. In terms of safety and security, local residents are kind and discipline, however, policemen are visible in the place to safeguard the safety of all tourists from bad elements of the society. It is also found out that ambulance and medical facilities exist in the place but it lacks of some medicinal things. Some recreational and other tourist spot can be develop and be added as tourist attraction but it takes tears before it become fully develop and can be use for tourism consumption. Based on the after findings and conclusion, it is recommend that the government should give attention in the tourism industry and provides more budget in maintaining and preserving the tourist spot in Sagada, Mountain Province The local residents and the people in Mountain Province must contribute also by their hospitality and good quality services. Their cooperation, care and love for their culture and its preservation is also need.

Significance of the study


Sagada, Mt. province is very rich in history as well as scenic spots and historical places. Many tourists have seen and gone around the city for many times. Together with this are the developments of the city and its present situation and problems. It focused also more on sudden changes in the place and why such places still preferred for a long period of time. Preferring their scenic spots and festivals celebrated. Basically, it can provide great deal of knowledge informing our readers concerning the lives of the natives. Their privation hospitalities received from the invader and the joyous anticipation of the province. Narrating their emotional depression and elevation, while living their lives hiding from the light of fake existence.

The students advantages is that through this study, they can benefit by the possible changes that are happening. More to this, they can understand the way of living from other provinces and can differentiate the preperations of different cultures, traditions and other scenic and historical sites.

To tha academic leaders, this research will serve as their basis of proof on different changes that was happened from the past to nowadays. Through this research, the professors will be able to determine the aspect to emphasize the subject they are teaching.

And through this research the people from different province may also be know the capabilities, skills and knowledge of the people of Mt. Province and consider them as a big part not only in the country but as a whole country. 3

Scope and limitation of the study

The research focuses on the distant view in social position and problems of historical places the tourists and the citys appointed department officials. This also includes the different tourist spots and destination that can be found in the city and common problems and its effects in tourist arrival and the development of the place. The study also covers the activities and projects that are being implemented to preserve the historical and scenic spots in the city.

Related Literature Studies


This chapter contains mostly of present situation of Sagada, Mt. Province and Scenic spots that make history to our country for making us proud being Filipino. It also discussed some of our culture buff, traditions that still exist and discovery of the different places of the province. This insights hold a promise of making us more understanding and self- actualized individuals, and of effecting more meaningful human relationships why and what they are and why we feel ad think as they do.

Method of Research and Procedure


This chapter includes the research design used, the subject for respondents description, the data gathering method instrument used and statistical treatment of the studies.

Research Design
The descriptive method was used in this study. The descriptive method is a fact finding study with accurate and adequate interpretation of the findings. It describe with emphasis what actually exist such as current conditions, problems,and the situation of the tourist spots in Sagada, Mt. Province. This study used survey method of research, this survey design is appropriate for the research because it gives a clear picture of the current situation concerning the problem of the study. It is used demographic data about the present situation, conditions and problems of the historical places in Sagada, Mt. Province.

Respondents
The respondents of the research were the students who visited the place. They were given a brief instruction and information on how to accomplish the questionnaire. Giving them the idea or in their own opinion that they can give suggestion, comments, and recognitions with regards to small scale industries. They could respond through questionnaire and a brief interview as a part of a background or a support for the answer.

Instrument Used
The instrument used to collect data is the questionnaire. This is because it gathers data faster than any other method. The survey questionnaire was composed of set of question to determine the objectives of the study. The researcher used the survey method so that the respondents could answer the question easily. The first part of the question composed of checklist, in which the respondents choose one or more response categories to describe the physical conditions of the tourist sites in Sagada. The second part is scaled response, in this type of questionnaire the respondents are given a range of categories in which they express their feelings and opinion so that the researcher will know the significance and difference in every historical places, Mt. Province. The third part of the questionnaire is ranking where in the respondents will rank the frequency of the problems they encountered upon tourist arrival, development of the place and how it affects the tourist spot. The last part of the questionnaire is composed of checklist were in the respondents will check the program could be proposed of improved to improved or enhance the scenic spot in the area.

Data Gathering Procedure


The researcher used the instrument mentioned to gather data for the study. The researcher conduct a survey around the vicinity of Sagada to gather all the the information needed in the research. To be able to complete and finish this study, the needed and relevant data are gathered by means of distributing questionnaires which are filled out by the respondents and some information which are collected from books, internet, magazines and people who are related and knowledgeable regarding o the study.All gathered data was tallied, organized and interpreted. 6

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This research is for the development and evaluation of the present situation of many tourist spots at Sagada, Mountain Province. Sagada Mountain Province is one of the countrys finest tourist destination and it is also the place for we can find the great monument of our forefathers-the famous Banaue Rice Terraces. And the preservation of our culture traditions and the great Filipino heritage is still observed and lives in many life of local folklore that lives in there. Tourism industry is one of the source of income in Sagada, Mountain Province. Together with this industry, employment from mining industry and commercial farming help the progress of many lives in the said place. Through this research our team wants to really observe and evaluate the current condition of many tourist spots in Sagada and with the result of this research it can help the upcoming project of the local government together with the Department of Tourism. And also aims to suggest some possible tourist attractions that can be made in some areas of Sagada , that can give progress and sustainable tourism industry. The goals and objectives also of this project is to educate everyone the importance of proper planning in building a certain tourist attraction or destination, its sustainability, its effect to the life of many local residents and the physical condition of the environment and natural resources. Lastly it also aims to promote to everyone the beauty and rich culture of our own country and to encourage everyone to become a tourist in our own Motherland above any nation.
