Hello everybody my name is Divya Venkat. I am going to talk about the Significant about Lord Rama's Avatar.

Lord Rama - Great Avatar of Sriman Narayana(MAHA VISHNU). I am not here to talk about entire Ramayana, you all know, just touching important events in the Rama Avatar to explain his significance. Lord Rama is the 7th incarnation of Vishnu and the central figure of the Ramayana - which is called as Adi-purana. It is a complete guide to God-realization, the path to which lies in righteousness. The ideals of man are beautifully portrayed in it. In this Avatat Bhagavan showed us few important things. 1. Saranagathi - If any one unconditionally surrends to him whether in human, Demon or any other creature MOKSHA is guaranteed. Ex : Jadayu - bird, Sabari - an old lady who gave fruits to the lord, vibishana - even though born in Demon family surrender Rama. Sakrud eva prapannaaya tavaasmeeti ca yaacate l Abhayam sarva bhootebhyo dadaamyetad vratam ma-ma l 2. Purushottama : At the time when it was normal for kings to have more than one wife, Rama gave ideal of having a single wife. 3. Dharma : he gave up his rightful claim to the throne, and agreed to go into exile for fourteen years, to fulfill the vow that his father had given to Kaikeyi, one of King Dashratha's wives. This is in spite of the fact that Kaikeyi's son, Bharat, begged him to return back to Ayodhya and said that he did not want to rule in place of Rama. But Rama considered his dharma as a son above that of his own birthright and his life's ambition. 4. Excellent friend: Rama had very touching relations with his friends irrespective of their status. Some of his friends are Guha, King of Nishaadas (a caste whose profession was hunting the birds), Sugreeva (the Vanar king) and Vibhishana a Rakshasa. 5. Promises: Rama always followed his promise at any cost. There are many examples of Rama's promises which he kept. Most important are the promise to sages to save their lives from Rakshasas, getting back Sugreeva's kingdom, making Vibhishana the king of Lanka. 6. Showed mercy to even enemies: When Ravana first fought with Rama, Rama defeated him to such an extent that Ravana lost his charioteer, horses, chariot, flag, weapons and armor. Though the situation was at his advantage, Rama instead praised Ravana for a great fight that day, and asked him to retire and take rest, as he must be quite tired. Ravana was greatly embarrassed at this, but he was also gratified that Rama saved his life, and this led him to consider for a moment whether to retreat and give Sita back. Lord Rama played the role of a perfect human being, a role model for everyone. He was an ideal son, husband, friend, and king. He had no other interest in His mind other than to please His devotees and to serve them. Recitation of Lord Ramas name is the only means of salvation in this age of Kali as it will immediately remind us of His beautiful form and wonderful pastimes. Thanks for giving me the opportnity to talk about Sri Rama Chandran or Lord Rama.
