Collapsible steering column

The steering column helps protect drivers in frontal collisions by collapsing away from the interior to reduce the chance of injury, while the lower steering shaft compresses to absorb impact energy.

ELR seatbelts with pretensioners and force-limiters

The front row, 2nd-row side and 3rd-row seats are equipped with ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) seatbelts to hold occupants securely in sudden stops. In a collision, the front pretensioners tighten as the airbags deploy to minimize movement, while force-limiters then gently release, lowering the chance of injury.

Anti-intrusion brake pedal

The brake pedal folds forward and inward during a frontal collision to help protect the drivers legs.

Side door impact bars

Thick side bars along the doors resist impact force in the event of a side collision, helping to protect occupants.

SUPERIOR HANDLING ABILITY

ABS with EBD
ABS keeps wheels from locking up to maintain control of the vehicle during hard emergency braking, preventing slipping and skidding. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) assists by redistributing braking force to the rear brakes as needed, enabling quicker stops even when carrying passengers and heavy loads.

INVECS-II 4-speed AT with Sports Mode

For drivers who prefer the convenience of an automatic, INVECS-II 4-speed automatic transmission provides smooth, intelligent shifting. INVECS-II shift control analyzes driving conditions to select the best shifting and also study driving preferences to create a profile that matches driver characteristics. Sports Mode gives drivers direct command over shifting with all the control of a manual transmission and the convenience of an automatic.

Hybrid LSD
The hybrid-type Limited-Slip Differential (LSD) gives excellent off-road response, combining the torque-sensing benefit of helical gears and a speed-sensing benefit of a viscous coupling unit, all designed to work together with ABS.
The LSD uses an internal clutch escape mechanism to prevent torque loss if one side of the wheels start spinning.

Dual SRS airbags

Because accidents can happen when you are least expecting, Pajero Sport offers the protection of front SRS airbags for both driver and front passenger. Used together with the 3-point ELR seatbelts with pretensioners and force -limiters, they provide an excellent degree of collision safety.

Keyless Entry
Remotely locks and unlocks the doors.

Turn Flasher
The turn signal will always flash at least three times, even if the turn lever is used only briefly.

Room Lamp Timer

When the doors are closed, the room lamp will remain lighted for better visibility even after the key is taken out of the ignition.

Open Door Alarm

Sensors will detect if any door is still open while the vehicle is moving and alert the driver with a buzzer.

Headlamp Auto Off Function

A timer automatically turns off the headlamps after the key is removed from ignition to prevent the battery from draining.

Speed-Sensitive Front Wiper

When the front wiper is set to intermittent, a speed sensor adjusts the wipers to wipe more frequently as the car moves faster for better visibility.

Light Monitor Alarm

If the driver forgets to turn off the headlamps after removing the key off the ignition, a warning buzzer will sound when the doors are opened subsequently.

Central Door Lock

The driver can lock or unlock all doors with the press of a single button.

30 sec

Power Window Timer

After the key is removed from ignition, the windows may still be operatable from inside for up to 30 seconds.

Security Alarm
The security system can be activated by a remote control. If someone attempts to open the door or trunk without the remote control, an alarm will sound.
