To Whom It May Concern: Please accept my resume for consideration for an entry level engineering position with Brooks Automation. If no engineering positions are available, starting employment with on the shop floor would be an opportunity to be reared for a design engineering position. I would not mind working my way up. Hopefully my background will interest you. My first employer was a fast paced custom millwork and cabinetry shop. They taught me to take pride in my craftsmanship, and pay close attention to detail. I began taking part time college courses in search of a career path. I then changed jobs to gain experience in anything mechanically related. I therefore sought out and secured a small equipment repair technician position. After a small period of time I ranked as one of the best technicians with respect to the number of tools out of service. A decision was then made to begin college full time. Throughout my college career I successfully maintained an independent carpentry and painting company. College taught me many things. During my Senior Design Project I strengthened my teamwork and leadership skills. Our team designed, machined, assembled, and programmed an autonomous robot for the IEEE UAV robotics competition. I was the team leader for the physical design, fabrication, and assembly stages. Through teamwork and my leadership we achieved a highly energy efficient design along with flawless mechanics. This August I completed a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in mechatronics engineering and a minor in industrial engineering (IE). The IE courses taught me the concepts of Six Sigma, Lean, Toyota Production System, along with other quality and process improvement topics. My selection of a mechatronic engineering major fueled my passion in automation and the machinery designed for it. Some of the courses taught for my major were control systems, electro mechanical devices, industrial robotics, machine design, and engineering of manufacturing processes. I adhere to the life long learning aphorism by studying for the upcoming FE exam, the GD&T exam, and reading industrial literature. In the future I plan on earning a Masters in Mechanical Engineering degree. I thrive in a results oriented atmosphere, working well independently or in a team environment, consistently meeting or beating deadlines. My close attention to detail is complemented by 20/12 vision and the belief that no mistake should passed on to someone else. Couching other employees would draw on my experience as a tutor. A tutor needed patience and understanding of students learning styles while guiding them through difficult material. If you wish to contact me to discuss my qualifications further, I can be reached via email or at (512) 673 - 2058. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to talking with you and the members of your staff. Respectfully,

Scott Dickerson
