Year 1 Homework Term 3

You child is required to do 30 minutes of homework every day. Each night for homework they need to:

Tips on how to give news:

Remember to speak loud and clear and look at the audience. Your news will be more descriptive if you remember to say: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. What it looks like How it feels when you touch it What it smells like What it tastes like What it is used for or how it works.

News Assessment
In week 5 (15th-19th August) the students will be required to present special news to the class. This Term we are learning about growing and changing and as part of their learning the students will need to create a timeline of their lives. They need to talk about what they looked like and what they could do when they were 1 year old, 2 years old, three and so on until their current age.

They can write their presentation on cardboard, prepare a PowerPoint slide show or simply use palm cards as props. If possible attach photos/drawings or bring objects (toys or clothes) they used to have at different times in their lives. The students will be assessed on their presentation skills:

Did they speak loud and clear? Did they make eye contact with the audience? Was the information well prepared?
