Rings should be removed, cleaned and replaced. Rings must be removable. DO NOT un-seal jar lids. Jars must be clean and clearly labelled as to the contents, date, time and method of processing. All entries must have been preserved in the last 12 months. Only name brand canning jars accepted except where specified. Take special notice of jar size required in each class.

Follow this Recipe: 1C Sugar 3/4C Margarine or butter, softened 1/4 C Molasses 1 Egg 2 1/4 C All purpose flour 2 tsp Baking soda 1 tsp Cinnamon 1/2 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Ginger 1/2 tsp Cloves 1/4 tsp Nutmed 1/4 C Sugar In bowl beat 1 cup sugar, butter, molasses and egg until light and fluffy. Stir in remaining ingredients except 1/4 C sugar. Mix well, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour for easier handling. Heat oven to 350 F. Shape dough into 1 inch balls, roll in the reserved sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until set. (Cookies will puff up and then flatten during baking) Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely.

TYPES OF HONEY
Liquid Honey : is extracted from the comb and strained to promote clarity. It may be heat treated to keep it liquid. Creamed Honey: is prepared by seeding liquid honey with finely granulated honey and storing it under controlled conditions until granulation is complete. Comb Honey: is natural honey sealed in wax, made by bees in the hive. Chunk Honey: is a mixture of liquid honey and pieces of comb honey in a container.
