Basic Players’ Regulation

 Participant Qualification
 Rights to participate in the WCG Grand Final are limited to the nationality/
citizenship of the country he or she shall represent.
1) For each country’s National Championship, the national partner can determine its
own participation qualification rules.
2) However, please be advised that players who participate in the WCG Grand Final
must hold citizenship of the country he or she shall represent (no permanent
resident status, etc. will be acceptable).
3) Even if he or she has been selected as national champion, and if he/she does not
meet the above requirements, their participation rights will be taken away.
4) Players with multiple citizenships must choose 1 country (Cannot represent two or
more countries).
5) Players with multiple citizenships and players who changed citizenship may
participate in one country of his choice regardless of his/her previous WCG
participation.
6) Player is locked into the country once he has participated in a country’s preliminary.
He may not change his country due to bad performance at another country’s
preliminary during the same year. (Failure to follow this rule may result in banning or
the player from WCG.)
7) If any infractions regarding the above rules are found after the Grand Final has
started, the player will be immediately disqualified, and WCGC may hold the
national partner responsible (national partner must check all player citizenship)
 Age Restriction
 It is strongly recommended that National partner follow USK (http://www.usk.de)
age restrictions.(refer to below table)
1) National partner may decide upon an applicable age restriction in his or her
country’s National Championship.
2) Due to strict gaming laws in Germany, participants who do not meet the USK age
restrictions will not be allowed entry to the Grand Final under any circumstances.
However, National partner may allow underage players to compete in the National
Championships at their discretion.

3) Any national representative born after Oct 6 , 1992 (from first day of Grand Final
Tournament) provided that they do not violate the USK age restrictions guideline,
must submit a signed parental (or legal guardian) consent from before they are
allowed to participate in the Grand Final. The player has rights to any prizes that he
or she may win during the Grand Final.
4) If any publisher and/or developer wish to place an age restriction, WCGC may
reserves the right to follow their recommendation.
5) All Grand Final participants must fill out the Participant Agreement form and online
registration.(Details will be posted at a later date)

 Guideline of National team construction


 National Partner shall determine, after consideration of domestic community and
popularity issues, which games it will execute in its National Championship from
the those titles announced by the WCG committee as official games.
1) It is recommended that National partners follow WCGC guideline on version and
patch application issues.
2) Game rules should reflect official rules, but some aspects may be changed
depending on circumstances.
3) Rule changes must be approved by WCGC. Arbitrary changes are not allowed
under any circumstances.
 Each country’s National Team construction shall adhere to the following
guidelines.
1) The maximum number of players in each game event within each national team is 3
players.
2) Number of “team competing game” will be limited to 1 team.
3) Number of representatives for each game will be decided by the National Partner.
 Each National partner must give auto-berth to WCG 2007 Grand Final medalists
for its country’s National Final. However, he or she cannot directly participate in
WCG 2008 Grand Final in Cologne without participating in his or her country’s
National Final.
 The auto-berth rule does not take effect in the following cases:
1) The title is not included as WCG 2008 official title.
2) Same title is included but platform has changed.
3) More than 50% of the team members have changed (for team events only).
 The following WCG 2007 GF Medalists will automatically advance to their
country’s National Final.

※ Dead or Alive, Tony Hawks and Gears of War are excluded from WCG 2008 official
title; therefore, there is no seed given for three games’ medalists.
 Regulation on Grand Final participants
 Grand Final participant registration is done as follows.

1) 1 step: Enter the information on WCG Information System (WIS) within 10 days of
the last day of the National Final in each country. (Game, Rank, Name, etc.)

2) 2 step: On-site registration at the Grand Final Players’ Village or Venue. (Must
bring passport)
3) A player has not completed both steps may not participate in the Grand Final.
 If a national team player cannot attend the WCG Grand Final due to sickness or
any other unforeseen event, he or she may be replaced by the next highest
finisher in the National Championship for that game event.
1) Player substitution is allowed up to 1 week before the first day of Grand Final. Any
substitutions after that date are not allowed.
2) Prior notification to and permission from the WCGC is required.
3) A written letter explaining the reason for not attending and an agreement to allow
the next highest finisher to participate is required before the permission for player
replacement can be granted.
4) If the reason is unclear or there is no agreement, the replacement will not be
allowed.
5) If a player does not attend WCG Grand Final in order to attend another event,
replacement is allowed; however, the player or the team who did not attend the
event may be penalized.
6) If it is found out that the National Partner replaced player for their convenience, the
National Partner may be penalized.
7) The player who gave up the position as representative will not be allowed to re-take
his or her position once the decision has finalized with the substituted player who
took his position.
8) Player change may also be allowed when the WCG Committee deems that a player
change is necessary.
 For team-based games, if certain team members cannot attend the WCG Grand
final due to sickness or any other unforeseen event, player substitution is
allowed for up to 50% of the team members. If more than 50% of the players in
the team require substitution, the team will be disqualified and replaced by the
next highest finishing team in the National Championship.
1) If a team is found that it did not follow the above regulation, the team will be
immediately disqualified. The National Partner may be penalized for team
management issues.
 Players are allowed to bring their own equipments, but driver installations and
setup of personal equipments are sole responsibility of the player.
1) Acceptable personal equipments: mouse, keyboard, controller, headset & mouse
pad
- Players must understand the electricity issues in the Grand Final country, and
prepare accordingly.
- If personal equipments require additional power, he or she should prepare
necessary adaptors.
 Thus, WCG Committee and/or National Partner shall not be held responsible for
player’s personal lost, damaged, or stolen equipments.
1) If a system is damaged or broken due to player’s recklessness, he or she is
responsible for the cost.
 Should a player not bring his or her own equipments, matching configuration,
and driver file, he or she shall be obliged to use the standard equipment
furnished by the WCG Committee and/or National Partner.
 The WCGC reserves the rights to the photographs and all other forms of the
likeness of all players participating in the WCG Grand Final and all their potential
uses.
1) Thus, players’ photographs and likeness can be used by the WCG Committee in
video and print promotion, etc.
2) Players cannot claim any rights to the above.
3) National Partner inform the players of the above information.
