Shells presence in India goes back about 80 years, when it operated in the country as the pioneering oil distribution company, Burmah Shell. At the same time Shell Lubricants India merged the Pennzoil brand with its brand portfolio and became one powerful entity in the category. With corporate office in Gurgaon and 6 regional offices Shell Lubricants India employs around 400 people across the board. The introduction of a new CSC is essential to pave the way for introducing a new standardized and simplified way of working. In addition to this, Shell also has customers such as Tata iron & Steel, TELCO, Maruti Udyog, SAIL, ONGC, Jindal Group, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ford, etc. In 2002, Shell acquired Pennzoil-Quaker State Company to become the number one lubricants marketer in the USA. Pennzoil motor oil has been the leading motor oil brand in the USA since 1985. In 2006, Shell acquired a 75% share in Beijing Tongyi Petroleum Chemical Company Limited and Xianyang Tongyi Petroleum Chemical Company Limited, which produce and market Chinas leading independent lubricant brand. Shell is the leading international lubricants supplier in China and has the third largest share of Chinas rapidly growing market. Shell Lubricants association with motorsport companies through technical partnerships with Ferrari, Ducati and the Shell-Pennzoil team in NASCAR, has the most extreme test bed to develop the best premium products for every Shell customer.
