In March 2015 I established together with my colleague, Jakob Thestrup, from

the University of Tokyo an academic collective called Academic B33r Wednesday.
As an informal network of scholars working in or visiting Japan, we gather once a
month in an informal setting to listen to presentations, exchange ideas, discuss
potential research collaboration as well as break institutional barriers by
interacting with scholars from various research institutions.
