ent is Mr. Edison Pinlac. Edison or Pres as we call him, is a native of Pampanga, married to Ludy Pinlac and has three (3) sons namely; Son Louie 11, Nicole Son 8, and John Benedict 2. He came to Korea in 1995 and worked in Daegu at that time. He became a volunteer in 1997 through the persuasion of his wife. He first joined the Steward Committee and later on as Altar Server. With his passion in serving the Lord he continued to be an active volunteer up to the present and seldom misses church and community activities. With his innate desire to help, he willingly shared his time, effort and whole self to the community. He also joined the Lay Eucharistic Ministry and presently serving as the president of HFCC. He believed that service with humility is what the Lord asked us to do. His dream for the community is for it to become one whole family and he wishes to continue to serve the Lord for as long as he lives. He is a simple family man with a big heart who is willing to be of service anytime. He said that he was born not only for himself but also for others and for God whom he will serve forever. Being a migrant worker for so many years, he survived all the trials in his life because of his strong faith in God. Like St. Lorenzo Ruiz, Mr. Pinlac has only one desire in his life, to continue serving the Lord through his people. Volunteer of the Year Award This year, a new category of award was launched to give due appreciation and recognition to HFCC volunteers who have exemplified dedication and commitment in doing volunteer work specifically to their respective committees and to the whole community, in general.
(Lets get to know Continued from page 1)

Mr. Cuevas came to Korea in 1991 and became a volunteer in 1999 through his wife who was also a volunteer. At first, he joined the Altar Server and Sports Committee then, later the Lay Eucharistic Ministry. He actively participates in the communitys activities and supports its programs and plans. At present he is an active member of the Sports Committee without neglecting his duties as Lay Minister. By nature hes a jolly person and loves to make funny jokes. His being a migrant worker away from his family and loved ones are what makes him strive harder to become a servant of the Lord through the community, the HFCC. In his opinion, serving Him should come from the bottom of ones heart and with humility. Be sincere and never do things for personal interests or wait for praises for what you have done. He suggested that as a volunteer we should develop the attitude of openness, always be true to ones self and to the community where you belong and continue serving the Lord by volunteering. In behalf of the HFCC, our sincere CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Edison Pinlac, Gawad San Lorenzo Ruiz Awardee and Mr. Manny Cuevas, Volunteer of the Year 2010. May your tribe continue to multiply and may the Lord bless you always so that you may fulfill the desires of your hearts. The abovementioned awards were given on September 22, 2010, during the celebration of the Holy Mass at the Tongsong Auditorium officiated by His Eminence Archbishop Osvaldo Padilla, DD, Apostolic Nuncio to South Korea. This year, she joined the GBKP 2010 contest because she wanted to prove that she can make it to the top. As she always says: A good beginning makes a good ending. And thats what happened to her. The GBKP 2010 contest ends but the purpose of the event continues. And that is to share the true values of a Filipino and to show the Philippine culture abroad especially in South Korea at the same time helping our fellow Kababayans who are and will be in need. To the reigning Ginoo at Binibining Kalinangang Pilipino 2010, may you continue to perform the roles entrusted to you. Congratulations to all!!!

The Binibining Kalinangang Pilipino 2010 was Lorna Rosales. She is 29 years old. She was born and raised in Quezon Province. She is currently working as an EPS worker in Bucheon. She came to Korea with a dream of finishing her college when she goes back home to our country. She studied B.S. Education at Enverga University. She loves playing badminton and dancing as well. She spends her free time being an active volunteer of Bucheon Filipino Migrant Community (BFMC). She was awarded as Best Muse in Suwon Basketball League. Last year, she got the title of Ms. BFMC 1st runner-up in Mr. and Ms. BFMC 2009, a fund-raising project of the community.

GINOO at BINIBINING KALINANGAN

MULING saksihan ANG KULTURANG PILIPINO

Dale Jeremy G. Tavarro

May kinakabahan, nagmamadali at naghahanapan, nakatutuwa.

I never noticed this.... The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed separate from the grave clothes. Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!'

KARUNUNGAN:
Bro.
