INTRODUCTION

There are several competing theories about how people learn. The purpose of this report is to learn about VARK, and to determine what is my learning style. Determining what type of learner I am can influence how I learn best, because a learning style influences how a person understands and processes information best. VARK is a questionnaire that provides users with a profile of their learning preferences. These preferences are about the ways that they want to take-in and give-out information in a learning context. There are four types of learners: 1) 2) 3) 4) Visual learner: learning through visual aids. Aural : learning through hearing the material. Reading/Writing: learning through reading and writing out the material. Kinesthetic : learning through doing.

VARK has helped people to understand each other and especially students to learn more effectively and faculty to become more sensitive to the diversity of teaching strategies necessary to reach all students.

The VARK Questionnaire Results: My scores were: Visual = Aural = Read/Write Kinesthetic 0 10 = 4 = 1

I have an AURAL learning preference. Aural Study Strategies. Because my result in the questionnaire was 10 in AURAL I am an Auditory Learner, that means I will learn best when I am listening (for example in a lecture) or when I am involved in a discussion. Having an AURAL learning preference means that I will remember things best when I`ve heard them. The key thing is to make use of sound, so I have to talk things through as I learn them in a tutorial group or listening from teachers. There are many strategies I can use: When I have to learn facts, try to recite them to myself, or even singing them aloud and I have to study best in silence.

The VARK Questionnaire Results: Visual: 0 Aural: 10 Read/Write: 4 Kinesthetic: 1

AURAL: 10 Intake (To take in the information) - Use e-mails and cellphones - Explain new ideas to others - Discuss topics with others - Attend classes and teaching sessions - Describe overhead and pictures to others - Remember the interesting examples. - Attend discussions group SWOT (Study Without tears) - Read your summarized notes aloud. - Explain your notes to another aural person - Talk about your learning. - Record your notes and listen them. OUTPUT (To perform well in the examination) Practice speaking your answers Listen to your voices and write them down. Spend time in quiet places recalling the big ideas. Imagine you are talking with the teacher as you write your answers.

CONCLUSION My result in Aural was 10, and I did the test three times in different days, the result was the same. I like to have an Aural result, but I disagree with the test because it says that people with aural preference want sort things out by speaking, rather than sorting things out and then speaking. I know that understanding my own preferred learning style can help me study more effectively by using techniques that can really improve my process information. For this reason I will take into account this results from now on and I will practice them at my job (I`m a teacher) and also knowing my strength is Aural I will take advantage of it at the University .
