CAPSULE Indus Foundation

CAPSULE Stands for Consortium of Service Providers for the Up gradation of Enterprise. This consortium concept was originated by GTZ (German Technical Bank) to promote and facilitate BDSPs (Business Development Service Providers) services to the MSMEs in India. Government of India constituted a high profile expert group in 1995 Abid Hussain Expert Committee to assess the Small Enterprise. UNIDO (United Nations Industrial development Organization) launched a National level workshop and presented its Survey on Indian SME Clusters in 1996. The identified clusters by UNIDO & Ministry of Industry are, Tirupur Cotton Knit Apparels Pune Food Processing Jaipur Textile Printing Ludhiana Knitwear

In the year 1999 the expert committee (Mr. Abid Hussain) submitted its final report and endorsed the cluster development initiatives. In collaboration with Ministries UNIDO Launched various project initiatives on Cluster Development. The financial support for the Cluster development initiatives were given by Italian Ministry of Foreign affairs, SWISS Agency for development cooperation, GTZ, DFID, MSMEFDP in collaboration with SIDBI right from the year 1991. In the year 2000, UNIDO shared its experience on cluster development initiatives undertaken from1995-2000 in India. UNIDO asserts the need of a synergy between Cluster Development programs and Business Development Services (Consultants) and its promotions. UNIDO report on Tirupur Knitwear Cluster which was published in the year 2004 identified more than 50 potential areas in which the cluster lacks and addressed the need of BDSPs to offer and address solutions on the key areas through their services. In the year 2008 SIDBI appointed APEX Cluster Development Services of Cluster Craft (ACDS) under Cluster Development Program to promote BDSPs in Tirupur cluster. To date ACDS worked with nearly 10 BDSPs (Consultants) to implement various projects, the BDSPs have been offering services to the industry for the past ten years. They have shown excellent results through their services. With the project period getting completed and ACDS is about to exits from the cluster tentatively by October 2011, as per the project plan the BDSPs jointly launching Capsule Indus Foundation to offer service and solutions to the industry and society to make the activities sustainable.

CAPSULE Indus Foundation (CIF) was registered as a Not for Profit Set up under the Tamil Nadu Societies act 1975 on August 25th 2011 at Tirupur, with the initiatives taken by ACDS under the MSMEFDP, World Bank, GTZ projects. With the spearheads of NIFT Tea, Textile Committee, MSMEDI, various financing institutions, Industrial associations, Academic, Industrial, and Government & Public sectors to address the following objectives; o o Up gradation of skills and knowledge to society, workforce & Entrepreneurs by providing training programs on various Human Resource Development skills. Initiate awareness programs on Energy Savings in collaboration with Government, to the Industries and general public in efficient use of energy resources like Electricity, Fuel. CIF offers customized solutions to the MSMEs to reduce their energy use and Implement energy saving measures & monitor their energy performance. Initiate solutions in minimizing wastes in production, storage, handling of materials. Improve environment, occupational health and safety of the workplace. Promote research and product development initiatives by working with prestigious educational institutions such as NIFT-TEA. Provide one stop solution & consulting services to Society, Institution, Industry on all possible areas to improve the lively hood, revenue, minimize operational costs and maximize profits for sustaining the Government earmarked growth.
