Augustine Church, Barberton, OH) (September 11, 2011)

Twenty-Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time

When we forgive someone, we choose not to hold a grudge against him or her. When we reconcile, we move to a new plateau in our relationship where the needs of all parties are heard and respected. In families we can sometimes forgive someone without even speaking. Reconciling is more difficult, for we must involve the one who has hurt us and rebuild trust. It is not always safe or possible to reconcile, but forgiveness is an essential ingredient of the Kingdom of Heaven. Insert Graphic 2114-0012.tif)

Today is the day and we are excited about, the Parish Picnic THE GREAT PUMPKIN & APPLE FESTIVAL. The festivities begin with Mass (in the Church) at 11:00, followed by activities on our beautiful Church grounds. Join us for food, fun & fellowship. Hope to see everyone there. Please note, there will not be a 5:15pm Mass today, Sunday, September 11.
(Insert graphic 1106-0086) 360 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. It is true that the stars give their light, but they cannot do otherwise. The birds sing their song, but they cannot do otherwise; the flowers cannot help but be beautiful; the orchards cannot be fruitful according to a fixed law. But, you and I, we can voluntarily, willingly give something to God. What can a man give to God that He does not already possess? We can give him our love....We are desperately trying to fill two hours during the night. I know that these are difficult hours to fill and we need everyone's prayers to make it happen. If you are able to assist in any way, please contact Judy at 330-212-0926.

RAINBOWS/SPECTRUM PROGRAMS When something significant happens in a family: divorce, death, job loss, deployment etc., it affects not only the adults, but also the children. St. Augustine now offers the Rainbows/Spectrum Programs, with sensitive and caring adults to help children put their feeling into words, and work through their grief to build a stronger sense of self-esteem. If your child is struggling through a painful experience, this is the opportunity to share (confidentially) with a group of peers who will experience together what is happening. Additional information will be sent home with the day school children, if you would like more information, please contact Renee Barker at 330-745-1080 and/or Visit www.rainbows.org to learn more about the Rainbows organization and its programs.

Stewardship Corner: You know well that these very hands served my needs and my companions. In every way I have shown you that by hard work of that sort we must help

the weak, and keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus who himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 29: 24-35
